At least they’re consistent. The Mullahs won’t be happy until the only book Iranians can read is the Qu’ran. We’re just part of the excuse this time, rather than the target. I just hope the next uprising (which will come) finally topples the regime.

There is not even one single book in Iran published about homosexual relationships.
The decision of the Iranian government to close down Cheshmeh is a perfect example of how the sodomy law and anti-lesbian gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) hysteria harms the entire society, including intellectuals and members of civil society who are simply interested in examining the issue of homosexuality.
The Iranian authorities have acted like this repeatedly.
It further proves that the current Iranian regime will NEVER improve LGBT rights, especially as western governments sit idly by and ignore Iran’s Human Rights violations and its record of executing more gay men for JUST their sexuality than any other nation on earth.

Here we go again. Shut down any signs of freedom so that they can grip and oppress those they rule over.

Shameful! Again all in the name of religion… the One true Evil of this world!

  5. There are people in the west who would like a christian version of this regime if that were possible. They would ban books on science by people like Richard Dawkins and many others on the grounds of protecting morality.

  6. PS. this is why the struggle for equality isn’t just a “gay” issue, it is an issue for anyone of any orientation who values freedom.

LEGAL TREATMENT of Homosexuality in Iran: Iranian queers have well-founded fears of persecution based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. The Penal Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is based on strict Sharia law, permits the punishment of queer people by lashing, hanging, stoning, cutting in half by a sword, or dropping from a tall building or cliff. Additionally, under Fiqh, Islamic jurisprudence used in conjunction with Sharia law, homosexuality is punishable by beheading or burning alive.—–

So dispicaple. In the UK you only see that sort of thing at the London Dungeon. Iran lags 300 years behind the civilised world.

I’m pretty sure the Mullahs will welcome the Salvation Army with open arms.
