Costa Rica: Human rights commission head ‘believes sexual orientation can be changed’

  1. It is often the case that those who believe that sexuality is a mutable characteristic feel that way because, for the, it is.

Sexually confident men and women, whether gay or straight or bi, know that their sexual orientation is not subject to change.

    Post a reply →
    1. You are wrong. There are so many men who has been natural but later decided become gay. There is the opposite cases also.

Provide evidence where a straight man chose to be gay, then you may have some credence, cretin. What’ s good for the goose is good for the gander!

        1. The jail system is rampant with men having sex with men but then resume a hetro lifestyle once they are freed back into society.

          Post a reply →
          1. They do not desire having sex with those men though – that is not a change in orientation.

          2. Ray, in the prison culture a stronger inmate takes a weaker inmate as his “woman” and it is not even considered homosexual. He provides protection for his mate and maintains his status as a formidable defender of his “property”.

Prison homosexuality is explained away as being a sort of punishment – a violent act against another inmate to permanently shame him. At other times, it is explained as an involuntary release: a last resort that the deprived inmate has no choice but to succumb to in the absence of a female partner.

It’s not a “sin” in the sense nothing is wrong with it. Also, I think religious people shouldn’t hold office, let alone be the leader of human rights. If you believe that homosexuals and bisexuals shouldn’t have equal rights you have no place involved human rights. Orientation can’t be changed, it’s sad that people think it can be- anybody that thinks it can be changed is either an idiot and an insecure idiot.

People do have the right to a relgiion but they should not be allowed to hold office because it affects their decision and law making, and how they treat people.

Us atheists also have human rights but here in several US states, we can’t hold office, we’re ostracized, we’re called evil, we’re mistreated, we’re told we should die, etc. And in many countries people are forced to be part of a religion, or if they don’t want to be, they have to pay money (see Saudi Arabia)

And don’t even get me started on homophobia, misogyny, and racism

  7. Two things immediately strike me about this story – firstly, someone (sadly in this case the person with legal responsibility for civil rights of LGBT people in his nation) is blinded by indoctrination that prevents him respecting equality for people who are gay – yet again.

Secondly, he uses the word unfortunately when he answers the question … seems he regrets his indoctrination – perhaps?

    Post a reply →
    1. Stu, nothing is wrong for any person to follow any religion, especially because such matter is the HUMAN RIGHT! Keep you unintelligent “thought” for yourself. You need to comprehend that any religious man in the world possessing the right to hold the office of human rights commissioner. Especially in such religious country as Costa Rica. Your education sucks, Stu…. Pity!

No there’s no way. to change orientation. Orientation is not something that can be changed. It’s not a choice. Nobody can choose to be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or asexual, just to identify as such, and to pretend to be, but that’s not living your life the way you should, because you should be true to yourself.

      Post a reply →
      1. I am at university and a final year law student. I understand human rights perfectly, its a balancing exercise but nobody should have less rights then others. People are entitled to follow a religion but others are entitled to be free FROM other people’s religion and the bile of homophobic people using the bible to justify themselves. The Harry Potter books tells me that I can walk through the wall at Kings Cross – I don’t believe it and try it because I’m not stupid.
