The Middle Earth..i meant East needs this. They need to let all the discrimination go and focus on giving LGBT citizens equal rights. I congratulate Madonna for he successful show!
Hopefully it gave some courage to these LGBT people out there. I hope that things get better over there!
You should all be ashamed of yourselves – You all praise Madonna for doing this? HA! Lady Gaga has been doing this since day 1. I didn’t see Madonna supporting LGBT rights so publicly before? If my memory serves me, didn’t she stop speaking to her GAY brother because her homophobic husband didn’t want her to? It seems to me Mafonna is only supporting LGBT rights now because it’s “popular” to do so. And FYI, Lady Gaga was supporting LBGT rihts WAY BEFORE Barack Obama did. Infact, she called him out publicly when he did not attend the Equality March.
I’m sorry, Darren. How old are you? 13? Do your homework before you decide to express your opinions publicly. I’ve been following Madonna since I was 10 and she has ALWAYS supported LGBT rights. Have you seen “In Bed with Madonna” (1990)? Have you heard “In this Life” (1992)? And the examples go on… Lady Gaga was 4 when Madonna was already standing up for us. I love Lady Gaga, but she’s not the pioneer…
Darren – aledodo is very, very, very correct. Madonna was introduced to the gay community by her ballet teacher, Christopher Flynn and has championed gay rights from as far back as I can remember. She spoke out on funding on AIDS research back in the days when celebrities shied away from the subject.
Lady Gaga’s stance on gay rights is commendable, but honestly – some research before posting would’ve saved you some blushes.
In an interview reported in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2003 she said that gay teenagers are being “tortured” for being gay, and spoke out strongly against homophobic bullying.
Lady Gaga did not appear on the scene until 2005.
Madonna has made strong stands on homophobic bullying and was prepared to risk arrest in St Petersburg to speak out against homophobia, then there was the actions in the Middle East by Madonna etc etc.
Lady Gaga has been a power of good too – it should not be a case of condemning one supporter of LGBT people to try and promote another.
UAE is a bunch of hypocrites and I am surprised Madonna really put up with it, but then I guess she hasn’t had a decent hit in years and needs the money.
UAE is blatantly homophobic as well as being one of the last countries that bans HIV+ people entering.
Until they change their attitude, steer clear of the place.

there would probably a lot of trouble if they so much even dared to try and arrest her.
Woo – Go Madonna!
Well done, Madge! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Well done to her for using her position in this way!
lol spellcheck
to say nothing of the grammar and the poorly constructed sentences… really, shame on PN!
thank you Madonna. What she did was truly courageous

Madonna has a lengthy track record of going out of her way to support LGBT rights – some of which is detailed by others above
