This story is really much less than meets the eye. The UNWTO has asked all the worlds’ heads of state to promote tourism; if they say yes they will, they get given a lovely ceremony. Another example of how double standard UN can be when it comes to supporting righteous causes. For years, citizens of Palestine have been assaulted by Israel and UN is still pretty ignorant about it. Shouldn’t be suprised when UN needs major funding from USA and Israel is a close ally of USA. Going against Israel would be equivalent of opposing USA. The recent UN human rights summit to recognize GLBT rights globally at Geneva still leave much to be desired. Gays were murdered in Iran & Iran, and where the hell is UN?
