  1. This cracked MP from Lithuania claims that gay people molest children (in my experience thats much more likely to be the Roman Catholic church!)..

According to the American Psychological Association, “homosexual men are not more likely to sexually abuse children than heterosexual men are.” Gregory Herek, a professor at the University of California, Davis, who is one of the nation’s leading researchers on prejudice against sexual minorities, reviewed a series of studies and found no evidence that gay men molest children at higher rates than heterosexual men.

Anti-gay activists who make that claim allege that all men who molest male children should be seen as homosexual. But research by A. Nicholas Groth, a pioneer in the field of sexual abuse of children, shows that is not so. Groth found that there are two types of child molesters: fixated and regressive. The fixated child molester — the stereotypical pedophile — cannot be considered homosexual or heterosexual because “he often

    1. finds adults of either sex repulsive” and often molests children of both sexes. Regressive child molesters are generally attracted to other adults, but may “regress” to focusing on children when confronted with stressful situations. Groth found that the majority of regressed offenders were heterosexual in their adult relationships.

The Child Molestation Research and Prevention Institute notes that 90% of child molesters target children in their network of family and friends. Most child molesters, therefore, are not gay people lingering outside schools waiting to snatch children from the playground, as much religious-right rhetoric suggests.

Some anti-gay ideologues cite the American College of Pediatricians’ opposition to same-sex parenting as if the organization were a legitimate professional body. In fact, the so-called college is a tiny breakaway faction of the similarly named, 60,000-member American Academy of Pediatrics that requires, as a condition of membership, that joiners

    2. “hold true to the group’s core beliefs … [including] that the traditional family unit, headed by an opposite-sex couple, poses far fewer risk factors in the adoption and raising of children.” The group’s 2010 publication Facts About Youth was described by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Psychological Association as non-factual. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, was one of several legitimate researchers who said Facts misrepresented their findings. “It is disturbing to me to see special interest groups distort my scientific observations to make a point against homosexuality,” he wrote. “The information they present is misleading and incorrect.”

Thank God savages like this are leaving this world little by little, be patient people just saying!!!

  3. Without wishing to offend too many people, isn’t this sort of genocidal language equivalent to interrupting Holocaust Memoral Day to demand the ethnic cleansing of Lithuanian jews?

It’s the 21st century and a mainstream politician can still say things like this. Incredible.

    1. It’s good and right that he can, and good and right that we can tell him he’s a twat and to stfu!

  4. Do you think he only does this once a year as its the only 15 minutes he fails safe venturing out of the closet?

  5. If it is true that the majority of active homophobes are actually closeted homosexuals, perhaps people claiming homosexuality equates to paedophilia are closeted paedophiles…

  6. What a clever idea when economies of the world are teetering on the brink of meltdown to tell a portion of your country to get tae and take their taxable and disposable incomes with them.

  7. The truth today is the Christian church is much more sick and perverted, we have all see the Catholic priest rape the little children and the Mormons who kill their gay children with electric shock to their genitals to make them “straight” and then the preachers who get caught with gay escorts and doing drugs and all the while telling Presidents of the world how bad they are. No it is the Christian religion that is sick and perverted and they prove how sick they are everyday with their disrespect for the human lives of the minorities they attack and disrespect who only want to get married and love one another.

    1. The once-common Mormon resort of genital electric shock treatment is among the darkest chapters in Mormon society, and it saddens me. As someone who lives in Utah, has many Mormon neighbors, and has a progressive Mormon family that supports gay equality, it is my hope that Mormon society can be reformed over time to fully embrace and accept gay people for who and what they are, as equals.

    2. While things are not currently fantastic, they…have gotten much better than they used to be. The church’s own leadership has been historically split on this issue, with some authorities leaning much more towards equality, and some taking a hostile antagonistic view against LGBT people. The furious backlash against Proposition H8 by civil rights groups was hugely damaging to the church’s image as a humane organization, so since then, as a matter of policy, the church has since made the tectonic leaps of disavowing aversion therapy, disavowing mixed-orientation marriages, admitting that LGBT people are probably entirely natural, and endorsing antidiscrimination policies for LGBT people in housing and employment.

    3. This has interestingly earned the church the open hostility of Utah’s own predominantly Mormon Republican state legislature, who have been horrified at the church becoming more moderate on this and other issues the church has recently embraced that the Republican Party adamantly opposes, like environmentalism and immigration reform. And the most influential backroom-dealing political voice, Gayle Ruzicka of the Utah Eagle Counsel (a powerful far-right group), is adamantly opposed to any recognition or advancement of LGBT rights whatsoever. The careers of politicians have been made or broken on Ms. Ruzicka’s whim…which is part of the larger concern of political corruption in Utah’s government. Her influence is telling when legislators admit things like, “I liked the bill, but Ms. Ruzicka didn’t want us to vote for it.” There is a common nickname for her – “the Wicked Witch of the West”.

    4. Gay rights advances are easy where society is already highly progressed. It is my believe that when the advances are hard to make, they mean the most. Stonewall may have been many decades ago by now, but similar shifts need to happen again and again wherever necessary, and that includes in reddest Mormon Utah. In places like Utah, Mormons are more than just a religion – they’re an entire ethnic group, with even openly gay Mormons and many non-Mormons of Mormon descent still having a very strong Mormon cultural identity. (Compare Sikhs, Druze or Armenians.) Opposing Mormonness itself is counterproductive, and insults even those who are our allies in the struggle for LGBT rights. The Mormon Corridor’s LGBT equality efforts are usually most successful when progress is made from the inside, as equality organizations like Affirmation and Mormons For Marriage have been doing. We should accept their cultural identity, and support their productive equality efforts.

Of course Gays should leave Lithuania – Paris, Berlin, London and Copenhagen are much better destinations!!

What’s he going to do about the steady stream of yet-to-be-born gays? Will he provide them with travel tickets?

  10. Michael Cooke 16 May 2012, 6:55pm

Wow. It’s heterosexuals responsible for the gay babies, Gay people don’t breed. So are you testing children for homosexuality and exiling them if positive? You’ll have to weed out all those that are publicly ‘anti gay’ while being gay themselves, privately, as well.

If you look at who actually molests children, they are almost uniform in being trusted by the parents and publicly accepted as being ‘normal’ / straight. Not once have I ever seen a case of the rape of a child by an actual member of the gay community (which is defined by identifying as Gay and publicly).

  11. That There Other David 16 May 2012, 7:12pm

Petras Grazulis should be the one driven from Lithuania. I suggest he starts walking in a north-westerly direction and keep going when he reaches the Baltic coast.

  12. If he’s allowed to remain an MP, Lithuania should be made to leave the EU.

    1. That There Other David 16 May 2012, 9:26pm

Not a chance unfortunately. Take a look around the EU and there are quite a few politicians with equally ignorant views. Hungary, Poland, Italy, even the UK have their fair share.

  13. He supports the Church and believes gays molest children? Mmm… I know that the (Roman Catholic) Church is the one facing a worldwide scandal involving the abuse AND cover-up of kids in their care.
This guy scores a big fat zero in the facts department! How is it that he is even trusted as an MP?

  14. It is to Lithuania’s great shame that a crackpot like this is not arrested and fined.

  15. More Orthodox Church hatred!

    1. But Lithuania is mainly Catholic, isn’t it?

  16. Why are Easyern Europeans so backwards that they elect this kind of trash?

    1. They have a long way to go and culturally this retarded fool appeals to them for some reason. Look at Russia.

  17. It will be interesting to see what happens when he is caught cottaging.
Send him to a clinic to ‘cure homophobes and pedophiles’.
Sad man, his hatred is slowly consuming him and will shortly be his downfall.

  18. “How are homosexuals better than necrophiliacs or paedophiles?”

I think, Mr. Grazulis, it more than obvious we’re better then you, given you consort with necrophiliacs.

Democracy ha a tenancy to expose fools who vote for Neanderthals like this.

  19. “gay = pedo”

Is this still going on? Who seriously believes this bs?

A little advice for Mr.Lithuanian MP here: If you’re looking for someone to accuse of child molestation, perhaps you should pay a visit to the old and holy Catholic Church.

    1. Whats worse is gay=necrophilia. I mean seriously!

This shows some very, very disturbing thought processes in this man’s head. The police would be monitoring someone like him as a potential sexual offender. And the medical professions should be checking his mental health.

      1. I actually found that one HILARIOUS! I mean it makes no sense what so ever. I can’t even feel offended by some bigot comparing my sexual orientation to necrophilia. He’s clearly mentally unstable and this statement is just a decline of Mr.MP’s sanity.

  20. Why would anyone elect Crazy Street Preacher Guy to parliament?

  21. Lithuania is a place of great depravity in modern times. The people are very much enslaved by the Roman Catholic Church–which waged a genocidal crusade against their pagan ancestors for centuries. Lithuanian homophobia is a synthesis of the Polish and Russian/Soviet varieties, and it is very potent.

  22. Wow, so PinkNews finally wrote about my country? :D Seriously, we’re like 20 years behind the rest of the world, and you see our non-existent trans rights, that would make an even better article…

And to Mr Grazulis – me and half of my friends are already planning to leave, my parents are actually encouraging me, because I’ve been fighting windmills here. The question should be what will YOU do without accomplished artists, businessmen, scientists, etc.?

  23. Dr Clive CORY 11 Sep 2013, 2:46pm

Stupid man! The WHO declassified homosexuality as an (illness/disease) some time ago. Would be interesting to see if Lithuania ratified this in their parliament, eh?
