Ben and Jerry’s the ice cream maker that had already launched a special scoop, Apple-y Ever After, to celebrate equal marriage for gay couples, sent the UK Minister for Equality, Lynne Featherstone her own personalised ice cream tub.

Mrs Featherstone, who was the first Government minister to take part in the Out4Marriage campaign, was sent a ‘Lynne Honeycomb’ special edition tub. Although her staff say they were disappointed that it didn’t actually contain any actual ice cream.

The flavour formally known as Oh! My! Apple Pie! has become Apple-y Ever After and tub imagery feature a gay couple atop a wedding cake decorated with rainbows. Unfortunately, the flavour is only available as scoop in Ben and Jerrry’s outlets and not more widely in supermarkets.
