    1. Are you from Australia? Cos I live here, it’s not as bad as you think. It used to be a lot worse, and it is still largely hetero-normative, but things are changing for the better.

  4. Australia still suffers from colonialist masculinity. Georgiou is possibly also 2nd or third generation Australian so would have been raised with an old world european image of masculinity so the guy is pretty well screwed in terms of functionailty due his deluded machismo

    The top brass should have reprimanded the soldiers involved and educated them more.

    Instead they swept in under the carpet, hoping the issue will go away.

    Homophobia in the military 20 years on. Something wrong, somewhere.
