  1. How embarassing. The Oxford Pride crowd have me cringing again, as is usual. I don’t think the general population of Oxford really needs to be given a demonstration of how to stereotype LGBTs. Most, actually, have better ideas about and awareness of the city’s LGBTs than this event seeks to perpetuate.

    1. This event like last years is a fun event that the public loved. It shows the LGBT community as being fun loving people. It’s called a drag race but people are encouraged to dress as they want. The reason why the organisors want people to be flamboyant, is because it attracts attention. There is a stand that day at the Westgate Centre giving information about the whole of the LGBT community in Oxford. The drag race will draw attention to the stand. At the main event and parade there have always been stalls from all sections of the community, Thames Valley Police, Terence Higgins Trust, Oxford and Brookes Universities, HALT, Oxford friend, political parties among others. All showing the many faces of the LGBT community.

You need to get over yourself, you are embarrassed by the fact that you identify with drag and you’d rather NOT be outed for it…

That’s what the bigots do, they have secret same-sex attractions so in order not to feel the guilt or be outed they attack and attempt to restrict same-sex couples…

It is perfectly reasonable that we should want to dress up and celebrate, we are human and humans do this everywhere…

      Don’t be such a drag….

  3. the way Oxford pride raises money all year round for pride is really inspirational and builds community with all the events put on almost every week. Perhaps some other prides could take note of such a well run Pride and replicate what they do.
