Did’nt the gay marriage lobby in the UK say that gay marriage would end homophobia and discrimination? Does’nt Belgium allow gay marriage?
No, what it did say was that it’s another step in eliminating it, once we’re seen as being treated as full equals. Homophobia will never be entirely wiped out, just as racism and misogyny won’t. But at least those aberrations will diminish with the passage of time.

True. What often happens here (I live in Belgium) is that violent homophobes go to gay bars and seduce someone, offer them sex and when the other person goes along with it, the homophobe takes them somewhere and beats them up or kills them. There are a lot more articles in the newspaper about gaybashing lately, I’m glad it finally gets some/more attention.

The Guy was Belgian with Morrocan roots. His family accepted his homosexuality, even though they are devout muslims, his father being an Islam teacher in a school.
The anti gay Christians are woking all over the world to black PR gays and as a result they are being killed and the anti gay Christians are also harassing LGBT people until they kill them selves. These anti gay Christians need to be arrested and put in prison like this killer who killed this beautiful young man.
This is not uncommon. Now we have to be inclusive. All the venues will attract people who are looking for trouble.
Even here, gays are sick of being harassed, abused, vilified etc, in their venues by straights.
But what can you do. They have become
dangerous.
Most of us gay men, avoid going out to the venues now.
I take it that gay people have never been murdered because of their sexual orientation in Belgium before.
Unfortunately the Matthew Shepard story repeated in Belgium, so sad.
It is a sad thing that something like this happens even in a forward-thinking country like Belgium, c’est dommage, la belgique.
