  1. Silly bitch.

I just see the bully having a snivel and wetting her pants because her victim swung back and can hit harder than she can.

    1. Robert in S. Kensington 30 Apr 2012, 3:00pm

      She’s a sociopath!

    2. She is certainly no Salman Rushdie, he was an enemy of religious totalitarianism.. What an insult to Mr Rushdie

    3. …and the news is that Dr Gasper failed miserably in her attempt to be elected in to the Quarry and Risinghurst constituency yesterday.

She came in 5th (below every other candidate) with 69 votes…

      Results here:

Looks like the local electorate voted with their feet.

    4. RUBBISH. It is you who are the bullies. There is nothing at all wrong with anything she said.

  2. So says a a woman who believes in sky fairies..

She is just enjoying someone listening to what she has to say for a change (something a UKIP member must find strange).

    1. Staircase2 1 May 2012, 7:43pm

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Enough with the crappy ‘sky fairies’ bollocks already…

I’m getting fully fed up with the dogmatic atheist bollocks…(think about it…!) (quite literally!) (for a change!)

    2. RUBBISH. She hasn’t said anything about sky fairies. You are just proving that what she says about you lot being mental is correct.

  3. I would imagine that her ‘help’ for this man also involved him no longer being gay and/or finding gawd/jeebus. Neither of those things are actually help.

  4. Benjamin Cohen 30 Apr 2012, 3:04pm

    What about you Jean?

    1. If people are sending her death threats, that suggests mental imbalance. Obviously if she said ALL PN readers should be sectioned, she’s an idiot.

      1. Spanner1960 30 Apr 2012, 3:48pm

Well I read through all the comments on the last PN thread regarding here, and much that she might have meen maligned, or even insulted, I didn’t see a single mention of physical violence, let alone a ‘death threat’.

Is she is seriously worried she should contact the police, but I think it is more likely the dribbled mutterings of a deranged old bat.

      2. Spanner1960 30 Apr 2012, 3:49pm

      3. Well dressme up and call me Daisy, Jean has actually replied to someone else!

      4. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:37pm

What would someone who is clearly menalyy ill with the Abrahamic Cult brain infection know about mental imbalance?

        1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:39pm

          mentally*** obv..

          1. Paddyswurds 4 May 2012, 12:01pm

………….Yaaa, The demented bint lost her deposit in Oxford East. it seems as if the good people of Oxford aren’t as bigoted as the deluded Julia Gasper, D Phil. had hoped. She can now go back to teaching Shakespeare to Yanks…

    2. Clicked the wrong tab, was meant to thumbs up your comment now down! Sorry

  5. Benjamin Cohen 30 Apr 2012, 3:04pm

I meant to say, I’m glad you like my website so much!

  6. “Since wrote of Dr Gasper’s blog posts, the blog’s follower numbers have risen by over thirty percent, from three to four.”

    1. Spanner1960 30 Apr 2012, 3:41pm

I had to read that twice to make sure I’d got it right.
That made me literally laugh out loud.

      1. Best thing I’ve read for yonks – three to four – lol indeedy!

    2. To be fair the number of followers on a blog means nothing. You need a blogger account yourself to become a follower. I know of blogs that get 20,000 hits a day with only a dozen followers.

    3. Who cares about her goddamn blog?

    4. Gotta say, i do love the more sarcastic tone of the articles recently Ben =D

  7. Helen Wilson 30 Apr 2012, 3:09pm

This from a candidate from the political party who only have one policy they continually obsess about. I’m not sure she will be able to get Oxford out of the EU sitting on the local council… Still at least the Monster Raving Loony party do not need to field a candidate in this ward.

  8. Jean. Seriously. Do you have a finger hovering over a submit button to get your post in first on Pink News.

If you had anything useful to say then it would be commendable. As it is, it’s on a par with the actions of a child.

    1. Strange isn’t it, how “she” is so often first to comment? Must spend an awful lot of time on Pink News – such enthusiasm!

  9. Robert in S. Kensington 30 Apr 2012, 3:15pm

Stupid woman. Here’s an interesting article she might care to read.

  10. This woman isn’t fit to use Salman Rushdie’s name.

    1. Agreed.

Given her comments on mental health – I would urge her to look up and review narcissistic personality disorder. And after that – victim complex. Frankly, I amazed that she hasn’t equated herself to Jesus yet.

  11. I think she’s one of those Indians who try too hard to be British. Afternoon tea and all that.

Well darling, you’re an out of date old bint and your clothes will always stink of goat and curry. Get over it.

    1. That’s a horrible, racist thing to say.

    2. Strange that you’re so uncomfortable with homophobia but comfortable with racism.

You might also want to note that being born in India doesn’t make her Indian any more than it does Joanna Lumley or Cliff Richard (unless you think they stink of goat and curry too).

      1. Spanner1960 30 Apr 2012, 3:44pm

Dr Gasper is of Indian parentage, Lumley and Richard are not. Their parents just happened to be there.

        1. How do you know that?

          1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 5:02pm

Read her profile and blog, idiot. She is Indian.

          2. Her profile, O idiot, says nothing more than that she was born in India. I can’t be bothered reading her blog – better things to do. Could you cut-and-paste a section where she refers to herself being of one of the Indian ethnicities? Thanks.

        2. Does that have anything to do with the blatant racism expressed by Algernon?

Odd that you correct Rehan but have nothing to say about “Well darling, you’re an out of date old bint and your clothes will always stink of goat and curry”

        3. @Spanner1960: last night Paddyswurds was asserting to me on the other thread that anyone born in India is Indian. Bollocks of course, but you never know who else is similarly misguided.

And, as Joss has pointed out, if she is Indian, does that justify racism?

          1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:10pm

Anyone with at least one working eye can see she is ethnically Indian…..her parents came to Britain in the early sixties during the influx of Indians from India after partition…..

          2. Hey, what would I know, having been born in South Asia myself? Clearly all the experts in Indian ethnicities live in remote NI villages!

And even if she is of Indian origin (she looks to me as though she could possibly be Anglo-Indian, but I’m sure you know better), do you think that justifies racism?

            BTW, Partition was in 1947.

          3. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 8:27pm

I don’t recall saying when it was I said “AFTER PARTITION and that can be anytime up til present you twisted old queen………

          4. Oh, so you believe there’s been ‘an influx of Indians’ – steady, I imagine? – to the UK since 1947, that’s why you mentioned it, was it? Christ, listen to yourself Paddikins – maybe it’d save the rest of us having to.

        4. Actually, Spanner1960, Cliff Richard is of Anglo-Indian (mixed-race) descent so I think you’ll find his parents didn’t “just happen” to be there.

          1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 11:03pm

You are an ass and well you know that there was an influx of both Indians and Pakistanis in the fifties and sixties; mostly those who didn’t want to remain on the sub continent after partition. Can you twist that to seem racist you fukkwit?

          2. I don’t need to twist it Paddikins, your racism is evident for all to see. The fact that you’re resorting to personal abuse demonstrates that you’re either well aware of it, or are just exactly what you accuse me of being (or both).

  12. I just reviewed the whole thread and I don’t see where the “murderer” bit comes in, other than someone who remarked that she looks a bit like Rosemary West. Is that it? Could that be what she actually means?

Well guess what, if my Grandfather looks a bit like Santa, that doesn’t make him Santa. And everyone understands that he is not Santa.

The rest? Put yourself voluntarily in the public eye, expect to be pilloried. A politician should know that. If you get on the soapbox, of your own volition, then you need to understand that you have no right to a sympathetic audience.

Oh, and if she thinks a bit of trolling and name calling is rough, she should trying seeing what LGBT people put up with on a regular basis. Perhaps then she will wind her neck in and spare us the fragile little wallflower drivel.

    1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 5:07pm

……….You missed one then, Someone called pigface or pigsty said she should be chucked off a cliff, which would seem to advocate murder which is clearly wrong no matter how odious this ugly old bints opinion. I would say to her though I was born Gay just as she was born ugly of mind and body and I cannot change that any more than she can change the unfortunate circumstances of her birth.

      1. But she says she has is the victim of a “hysterical accusation of being a murderer”. Suggesting she is the one capable of violence.

I even went to her blog to confirm that it is murderER not murderED, in case PN had a typo.

    2. Paul.Essex/London 30 Apr 2012, 6:00pm

It also begs the question that if she finds LGBT so inconsequential to the human race, then why was she bothering to read our comments on what she thought?

      1. Attention wh0ring I imagine.

And in case she is here again, being all hysterical with faux indignation – that is a common parlance phrase for someone who longs for attention, with no regard for whether it is positive or negative. It doesn’t actually mean that I am accusing her of having sex for money.

It would be nice not to feel that you have to footnote someone who makes a brouhaha over being educated, but just in case….

  13. She is right judging by the usual comments on here hahahaha

    1. ….crickets….

    2. Probably shouldn’t end that un-funny comment with maniacal laugher Simon, it makes you look crazy.

  14. Does anyone else think she is treading a very dangerous line here making comments about people’s maedical health. I’m sure its not beyond the realms of possibility for some of her statements to be considered libelous. At the very least her party should be paying very serious consideration as to her viability as a candiate and the possible repercussions of her offensive and frankly bizzarre outbursts.

  15. Since wrote of Dr Gasper’s blog posts, the blog’s follower numbers have risen by over thirty percent, from three to four.

    1. LMAO :’) love it !

  16. Out of all of this, there is one person who could probably be sectioned, and it is not the readers of Pink News!

    1. And that’s absolutely this troublesome lady called Gasper. Let’s get rid of her by dumping her in a mental institution.

      1. I would feel sorry for the employees of said institution.

  17. Oh, and did I mention that I like the fact PN have managed to find an even more hideous picture than the one previously used! She really does look quite demonic, if those things actually existed!

    1. Come now, we don’t need to resort to cheap shots about the woman’s appearance. That’s completely irrelevant. There’s an embarassment of riches in her horrible bigoted views to be working with.

      1. True VP, but . . . . .well, just sometimes can’t we poke fun??

        1. PLllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssseeeeeeeeee

        2. Yes, but there was an abundance of that in the other thread, much of which was spiteful and downright nasty. Dr Gasper may be saying stupid things, it doesn’t make us look very good if we reduce ourselves to her level or even lower.

          1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 5:10pm

Stop calling this bigoted heap of shyte a doctor. She is not a doctor and never will be a doctor.. Read her blog and then consider her supposed D Phi from Somerville. Yea right.!!!

          2. You’re being hysterical Paddyswurds, please stop it, and grow up. I seriously doubt she could get away with publicly claiming she has a DPhil from Somerville if she hasn’t. You are in no position to state whether or not she has a doctorate.

A DPhil isn’t a guarantee of a liberal or civilised frame of mind, more’s the pity. Don’t forget even Nick Griffin is a Cambridge graduate.

      2. I think this Dr. Gaspar is really our very own JEAN, ‘her’ from this very page as is, and who leaves those sidesplittingly comical comments, straight off the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band’s greatest hits or whatever. What do you all reckon?

  18. I love the last paragraph of the article:
“Since wrote of Dr Gasper’s blog posts, the blog’s follower numbers have risen by over thirty percent, from three to four.”

  19. I laughed so hard at the last paragraph that a little wee came out.

  20. Come on Dr Gasper be a little more creative, if I was the mayor of crazy town I’d make everyone walk on their hands and paint themselves blue… it’d be far more fun than prejudice and hate preaching.

  21. Come on Dr Gasper be a little more creative, if I was the mayor of crazy town I’d make everyone walk on their hands and paint themselves blue… it’d be far more fun than prejudice and hate preaching…

  22. Well she is a doctor, far be it for us to doubt her miedical knowledge…

    what’s that?…..

    Time for a second opinion

    1. Medical*

    2. Indeed. I shared a house with an English student whilst at University. He had about six hours of lectures a week, whereas most other students had anything between 20 and 35.

It seems dear Dr. Gaspar isn’t mentally taxed enough on her particular gravy train. First the failed political career, then the failed blog, now a failed attempt at notoriety.

Ignore the lady is my advice. She’s irrelevant, and always will be.

      1. If he truly did have only six hours of lectures a week I hope it was a time pre tuition fees. If not he was severely ripped off.

Do you have to cheapen the degree of every single Eng. Grad. because of one lazy man you shared a house with and one awful UKIP candidate?

        1. He wasn’t lazy. He went to every lecture and tutorial on his timetable. All six hours a week of them. The course was the thing at fault, hot him.

  23. Spanner1960 30 Apr 2012, 3:42pm

I think the woman should change her constituency.
I think Barking would be very apt.

  24. Stop giving this fruitcake publicity.

  25. “Since wrote of Dr Gasper’s blog posts, the blog’s follower numbers have risen by over thirty percent, from three to four.”

    Now that is precious.

    1. Spite and bitchiness that’s all – rather despicable really. For people incapable of civilized discussion.

  26. She will enjoy the feeling of martyrdom, as long as there is no real threat of course. And she will know that there isn’t a real threat.

  27. She is right about one thing. Making death threats towards outspoken anti-gayers in the public eye does Not help our cause. People should think before they type. Be witty, political or more-clever-than, just don’t make us all look like a bunch of psychopathic monsters.

    1. Has anyone actually sent a death threat though? She is clearly delusional so I see no reason to believe they have.

      1. Bisexual woman in Edinburgh 30 Apr 2012, 9:49pm

Yet another delightful person who claims that her detractors are sending her death threats without showing a shred of proof, and who also accuses them of being mentally unstable. Are we sure this isn’t Simon Wesseley under another name?

    2. David Waite 30 Apr 2012, 6:30pm

She would have to post a death threat which was verified by a reliable third party (such as the police services) before I’d believe anything she claims, about anything at all. If she claimed the sky is blue, I’d verify. I don’t even trust her doctorate is genuine without auditing her Beowulf classes. I have observed a definite correlation between delusions about life and delusions in instruction.

Anyone who has tutored entry level English teachers in the English Literature canon knows it is impossible for a student to make sense of most authors if the student is deluded about the author’s personal history or time period. Context is everything.

    3. What! An intelligent person on Pink News? What are you doing here, honey?
Find yourself a bunch of nicer friends, Tara.

  28. I find it very telling that this woman insists on being known as “Dr” Gasper.

There are one or two places in which going with “Dr” rather than the usual Mr. or Ms. is appropriate. In a hospital for a medical doctor, or an academic context for any other kind, are pretty much the only ones that spring to mind.

Anywhere else and it just comes across as arrogant, pretentious, self-aggrandizing and completely lacking in humility. I find it positively embarassing when people refer to me as “Dr” in everyday exchanges – it doesn’t make one better than anyone else, and parading it around is very unseemly.

Clearly it doesn’t make one better than anyone else. As this vile bigoted woman amply demonstrates. Indeed, it would be difficult to imagine how she could be made much worse. Delusions of grandeur are just about the least of her problems.

    1. Or, indeed, delusions of competence…

    2. This is because, sir or ma’am, you have class.

  29. And one of the followers is…. Dr Julia Gasper, I just checked pmsl. So technically its jumped from 2 to 3 LOL

    1. How do we know that the other three aren’t Julia Gasper as well, but under assumed names?

      1. Gosh – that makes a 50% increas!!!

  30. She looks like Rosemary West – I suspect she has more in common with the inmate than we first realised.

  31. At least we now know what a child she is in addition to everything else.

  32. The sad thing is that of her four followers – she is one of them. Poor dear.

  33. “It’s a shame that most of you are completely mad and need to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Just ring up your GP, tell him your symptoms and ask for help.”

surely not another snapshot of her incredible wit, what a treat.

  34. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 4:53pm

She seems determined to ensure that the good people of Oxford reject her at the council election. She should spend her time trying to improve her English grammar and punctuation as a perusal of her blog indicates someone in juniour school writing an essay that is beyond their capabilities. The woman is an idiot and i seriously doubt that her claim to a doctorate in English is genuine. methinks she is being a tad stingy with the truth about her educational achievements…….

  35. just goes to show how little a PHD in English correlates with mental ability

    1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 7:29pm

Not a Phd but a Doctorate in Philosophy which is a catch all term for a cheap degree in English. 6 hours a week is all that is required to nab one of these little gems. An idiot could get one on a bad day…. Her blog indicates she missed more hours than she gained. I suspect someone else wrote her dissertation or else it was plagiarized off the net..b no one with a D Phil EVER calls themselves a Doctor or adds D Phil to their name except those attempting to aggrandise themselves unnecessarily. It is considered very vulgar.

      1. I can see you don’t know many people with doctorates. Can you seriously not know a PhD is a doctorate in philosophy, and DPhil is just Oxford’s preferred way of abbreviating it?

        1. indeed. Oxford has always used D.Phil. for its doctoral degrees. It’s a more natural Latin formulation putting the adjective after the noun it modifies, rather than before, and Oxford being what it is that D.Phil. is technically short for Doctor Philosopharum rather than Doctor of Philosophy. PhD is exactly the same thing, but with the word order reversed.

On the other hand, it is still considered somewhat gauche to flaunt it outside of an academic context.

          1. Perhaps, but it’s hardly unconventional to use the appropriate title in political circles, eg Liam Fox.

There is quite enough to criticise about Dr (or, if you prefer, Ms) Gasper without wrangling over whether she’s entitled to use her academic qualification as title or not.

  36. Is she for real? If so… she is trying really hard to gain notoriety. Will her name appear on the front pages of local, regional or national newspapers? We shall see… we shall see… I’d advise her to streak on day time in front of her wannabe constituents. That would give her more chances… but that wouldn’t guarantee a council seat either… but if she is really willing to gain a council seat, it’s better to wear a paper bag over her head during her political campaign… that is surely her only chance.

    1. It’s a political campaign not a beauty contest. How do you think all the other ugly politicians manage to get elected…

If she wants to get elected she should focus on things that actually matter to people, not use her position as a platform to spread hatred and lies, but then UKIP are all about misinformation and bigotry.

      1. She should’ve gone to Specsavers.

    2. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 5:29pm

Better she should climb into a paper bag and stay there. She is unsuitable for association with polite or intellectual society..better still she should feck off back to the slums of Mumbai where she crawled out from….

      1. “The slums of Mumbai” – are you for real? I can’t believe someone who calls other people racist (Spanner1960) can say something like this. You are hardly displaying credentials for inclusion in polite or intellectual society yourself.

        1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:25pm

………your definition of racism needs tweaking idiot;. referring to where someone came from is hardly racist.

          1. David Waite 30 Apr 2012, 6:41pm

Suggesting by inference that Mumbai (or anywhere else) is all slum may be jingoist rather than purely racist. Which label fits you? What would you call someone who stated that you crawled out of “the slums of Belfast?” Whatever label you’d pick for them, wear it. Proudly; it belongs to you.

          2. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 7:38pm

            @David Waite….
…I will thank you not to put words in my mouth. I said the slums of Mumbai, which are extensive.,but which is quite different to saying the slum Mumbai. Oh and Btw Belfast doesn’t have any slums, since the late nineteenth century. You should also read the Oxford dictionary def. of racism below….

          3. You clearly resort to any form of abuse that comes your way (“idiot”). Your racism is glaringly obvious.

        2. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:34pm

          Just so you don’t continue making a fool of yourself. Oxford Concise English dictionary defines Racism as such;
          ra’c|ism n., 1, = prec. 2. theory that human abilities etc. are determined by race. 3. Hence~IST (2) n. [f.RACE+-ism…….

          1. Benjamin Cohen 30 Apr 2012, 7:45pm

I don’t actually think Dr Gasper is from India, I would rather that you didn’t use someone’s ethnicity as a reason to criticise her.

          2. Thank you Ben, but I fear your words will fall on deaf ears here.

          3. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 8:36pm

Her own bio on her UKIP page says she is from India if you care to read it. She came to the UK as a child with her parents in the 60s…..
BTW how many English teachers call themselves Doctor?

          4. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 8:42pm

            Ben VCohen…
…can you point me to where i used her ethnicity to critcise her, or will you choose to ignore this question as you did the e.mail i sent you Sunday?

          5. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 9:06pm

The bio on her UKIP page says she came from India as a child with her parents.

          6. she should feck off back to the slums of Mumbai where she crawled out from….

Boy, you really don’t get it, do you?

  37. Let’s be fair. If someone is threatening to kill you for fairly mild remarks then I can understand why she thinks they need help! They do!

    1. Like i said before, has anyone actually sent a death threat though? She is clearly delusional so I see no reason to believe they have.

      1. Trust Adam to defenfd a delusional person…. he exhibits enough of that quality as it is.

      2. I see no reason to call her delusional. And if one responds with such ferocity it is usually for good reason. Don’t try and pardon the unpardonable.

        1. “Don’t try and pardon the unpardonable.”

Nice try Adam. The only unpardonable thing here is your repugnant lack of intellect. Now back to your screaming at god, there’s a good freak.

          1. What a wity and intelligent reply. Also the phrase “lack of intellect” is extremely clunky. Anyway, your argument is logically fallacious as it is an ad hominem, not backed up by any substance. And who said I was religious?

  38. Well I never did expect the party that has neo-fascists among its MEP’s to ditch her to begin with. Life goes on.

Good luck getting elected you revolting bitch.

  39. This woman is a doctor????? Did she buy her degree off the internet or something?

    1. Doctorate of Zombiology.

      1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:19pm

A D Phil in English from Somerville apparently, although a perusal of her blog would indicate otherwise…..It is more like the work of an eight year old with learning difficulties.
Somerville needs to have a hard look at their requirements for awarding a D Phil if it is to retain any credibility, if the abilities of this ignorant bint are anything to go by.

        1. “A D Phil in English”

Ah. Makes sense. Its certainly wasn’t a scientific degree, that’s for sure.

          1. at the risk of sounding racist what specifically about English … English as a second language? her blog certainly reads like it.

          2. Paddyswurds 1 May 2012, 11:03am

…better be careful or the vile Rehan will twist your words and accuse you of racism ……..

          3. Twist? Shame you seem incapable of reading your own words. Is English your second language, Paddyfield? Maybe that would explain the difficulty you have in expressing yourself as you mean.

  40. Oh, she’s just another nutter, ignore her.

  41. Repressed lesbian, Julia?? The most hateful ones usually are…

    1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:13pm

…..I suspect it is not self imposed but that she couldn’t persuade anyone to consider carnal relations with her hence her hatred of GLB people. Something similar to Skinners rejection that set him on the road to hatred.

  42. Please folks just remember UKIPs policies towards our community when it comes to casting your vote on the 3rd May.

    Vote for anyone except them!

    1. Reb would you kindly tell me the UKIP policies ?

  43. She’s a disgusting excuse for a being. What did it think? That the LGBT community were going to actually turn around and be greatful?

    1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 6:21pm

Is she in fact human at all?. There is no proof……

  44. If she is elected and repeats these statements as a councillor, the Council can take disciplinary action against her for breach of their code of conduct. The new regime comes into force in July this year when all local authorities must have their new local codes of conduct ready (see Localism Act 2012). If she does, then you should complain to:

Until that time there you could contact the Electoral Commission to see if any remedies are available ring: 020 7271 0500.

The false suggestion that paedophilia is more common amongst homosexuals is a familiar one from the religious right. It might be construed as falling foul of section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986 in the context of its use.

You could also contact UKIP. The telephone number of their HQ is: 0800 587 6 587 or email: Gasper is Honorary Secretary of the Oxford Branch of UKIP.

    1. UKIP should be seriously worried about this person, funnily enough, I thought discrimination was illegal, I suppose it depends on how you word things, perhaps that’s what she learnt at Oxford.

    2. David Waite 30 Apr 2012, 6:54pm

Does the Oxford Branch of UKIP have a larger membership than this English professor’s blog following? Unless it is a great deal larger, you might have better results contacting the membership directly, since the local leadership has already supported her right to have and hold her delusional views.

      1. if you have an issue with this vile person then contact UKIP directly not the local branch – May I remind you that NOT everyone in UKIP actually thinks she is right infact everyone i’ve spoken to is shocked by her vile comments and some even refered to her as a looney tune – I am gay and in UKIP I have had a run in with her on facebook and expressed my concerns only yesterday – I had excellent support from other UKIPPERS who cannot believe she is like this and would say what she said. UKIP are a party that feels everyone should be allowed to have their say equally and I must say I agree but freedom of speech and HATE SPEECH are not exactly the same and I have made it very clear not only within UKIP but on other social networking sites JULIA and her mad side kicks are not what UKIP is about and people like her need to be dealt with quickly. BUT you will find that when it comes to comment thats anti gay from lib lab con there is less out cry from the pink paper unfortunatley

        1. So some people are in UKIP who are gay because they dont support gay people being able to marry?

or because they burn pictures of gay politicians in Soho>

or because they have speakers who believe jobs should be denied employment due to their orientation?

or because former mayoral candidates wished to ban Pride?

  45. That comment at the very end :-p That’s what keep me coming back to pink news! Outrage and a giggle on one page.

  46. Madam you are so totally unimportant to this world, I am surprised that you have the audacity or the affrontary to even open your evil mouth. Go and join the Roman Catholics or the Islams or even the anti Gay Jews of the world or better still emigrate to Lithuania. You would be a hit here or even St Petersburg in Russia, but please get off the planet as soon as you can, ok? You irritating, ignorant, arrogant female or whatever.

    1. Please, Lithuania don’t need her, we have own “Gasper” (Casper) lol. Keep her for your self, you need clowns to entertain you as well :)

      Last sentence, TOP lol

  47. How odd, she is an academic and must have some intelligence if you lectures at Oxford yet she equates any criticism of her views as mental illness on the part of those objecting.
I bet she would be a hoot in council debates, ‘everyone who disagrees with me must be mad and needs sectioned’.
Humour aside it is a disgrace that she should dismiss the true significance of mental health issues and the affects it has on those who suffer by equating it being gay.

  48. barry william teske 30 Apr 2012, 6:48pm

    Hate is patient.
It hides in wait and chides freedom.
It relies on the hurt of others to fan its flames.
It is in front of us everyday in the form of bigotry, intolerance, and suppression.
    And it is gaining acceptance.
We should all be very scared.

    1. The hatred is all on your side, along with the bigotry, intolerance and suppression.

  49. Peter & Michael 30 Apr 2012, 7:00pm

A good reason not to vote ukip, simples .

  50. Shame on you Gasper. You are such a disgrace. It is only people like you who should be dumped into a mental institution so that you can rot there for the rest of your life.

  51. if i were her i would put the doctorate to good use and took cue from mark twain

“Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”

    1. Oooooooooh nice!!!

  52. She’s a nutter – simples!

  53. mindleftbody 30 Apr 2012, 7:19pm

At last – someone without sufficient sense of their own ridiculousness and beat Dan Quayle’s comparison of himself to John F Kennedy.

  54. If I had an eek like that Id teach my backside to speak.

  55. Guglielmo Marinaro 30 Apr 2012, 7:21pm

Sorry, WHO should be involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment?

  56. Says the crazy lady… and why should we even pay attention to this crazy lady?
    …psh…silly crazy old hag.

  57. Amusing that she suggests other people should ‘stop complaining about persecution’, then compares herself to Salman Rushdie over a bunch of overexcited comments on the Internet.

  58. Patrick Lyster-Todd 30 Apr 2012, 7:30pm

She reminds me of Mary Whitehouse who was not only similarly barking but also looked it too … Is there a connection? I think we should be told …

  59. Stupid F’in bitch!!! The only one who needs putting away is her! How DARE she tell me how I should live my life. Who the hell do she think she is?

Maybe she isn’t getting enough? Or is she a closet gay herself? Gods I hope not.

Oh by the way lady..I’m pagan too! Got any problems with that? Well tuff bloody titty!!!

*Mickie steps down from tall and wobbly soapbox*

  60. I’d also like to add some nice and wide words from the delightful Mrs Brown..

    “That’s Nice!”

Anyone who has watched Mrs Brown will know exactly what I am saying :P

    1. Paddyswurds 30 Apr 2012, 8:51pm

  61. Hodge Podge 30 Apr 2012, 7:57pm

No, she’s fool giving her core voters what they want.

    1. Hodge Podge 30 Apr 2012, 7:57pm

      *a fool, oh dear.

  62. I wish they’d stop referring to her as Dr. It brings down the title. That should be reserved for people who have an actual education in mental or physical education.
Also, I wish she should go and get a wax job. Those eyebrows are just really quite disturbing.

  63. Hey guys! Here’s a thought! Is this Dr. Whatshername our very own JEAN??? Yes, ‘her’, the one on here who gives us all such a laugh! I’ll bet it is!

  64. Aggrieved Lunatic 30 Apr 2012, 8:59pm

I am not gay, my sister is though that is irrelevant as to how offensive I find this woman’s remarks. I am also very unhappy about her inferences towards mental health. I am in fact mentally ill. Being homosexual does not make you mentally ill. The two are not mutually exclusive but to suggest that people should be sectioned because of their sexuality or beliefs that differ to hers is offensive.

I have been close to being sectioned in the past. To link such an event to sexuality is wrong. To suggest that reading an online news site is grounds for being sectioned is absurd and highly offensive. There are many reasons to be sectioned. Sexuality and the reading of an online news site are not amongst them.

This woman is insulting both the LGBT community as well as those suffering from actual mental illnesses.

    1. Well said Aggrieved Lunatic!

    2. I think you will find that she actually said that peope who make “death-threats” and vicious attacks for no reason are mentally ill. That is in agreement with the psychiatric profession.
      Read before you whinge!

  65. shes one to talk about being sectioned when she looks like a mental patient herself in that photo.

  66. Dr Gasper, I see that the book that you are currently working on is on Islands and Women, you have taught courses in Womens studies….I wonder if your views about being gay are too close to the bone, in other words, is your shadow leaping out and is it about to bite you in the behind?
Are you so biased and so ignorant to think that homosexuality is a psychological disease? That homosexuals should be institutionalized? I am saddened to think that you are supposed to be a conscious woman with public responsibilites that you seek a position of ‘power’. Your actions remind me of a quote by the great CG Jung ‘The healthy (wo)man does not torture others – generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers’.
It may well be time to be kind to yourself and take care of yourself.
From a lesbian, who is in a civil partnership with a female Dr, who never calls herself Dr……

    1. You hit the nail on the head…

    2. You seem to be deluded that somebody has tortured you.
      Where is the torture?
Where is the attack except from you?
You message reveals hysteria and certainly requires treatment.

  67. The question I would like to ask is this: why is this being reported at all? Why are we giving her publicity? Does it really matter what this woman thinks? Exhasperating!

  68. In a way, she’s right. We really must be mad to pay any attention whatsoever to the rantings of a frustrated, inconsequential meerkat who belongs to an unelectable political party for racists.

    1. Ironic in the extreme though that this woman who belongs to that ‘unelectable party for racists’ has, in this thread, been subject to some utterly disgraceful racist slurs.

      1. Certainly not by me, though.

I assumed she was English, and still think she’s ugly inside as well as out.

        1. No, not by you, but read some of the poisonous slurs above – remarks like that she should ‘feck off back to the slums of Mumbai’ are dazzlingly ironic given that she’s representing UKIP, wouldn’t you say?

  69. Robin Evans 30 Apr 2012, 10:44pm

Mental illness comes in all sorts of disguises Dr Gasper….

  70. johnny.33308 30 Apr 2012, 11:06pm

Another looney on the wrong side of history….*yawn*…when this is over and we have won our full equality people like this will crawl back under the rock from whence they came.

  71. It is because we stopped locking away our mentally ill that you’re still on the loose.

  72. I’m a gay man and I also happen to be mentally ill. The two things are in no way linked! She should face repercussions. Its hurtful, nasty and no one should have to listen to it. Especially children! Its about time we teach people right and protect them from wrong. As long as there are people like her around I will never agree with freedom of [hate] speech. She should be removed immediately! She doesn’t know what she’s talking about anyway. She’s not a Psychologist! She is in no position to say anything.

  73. Is it just me or does she look like Rose West? Haha

  74. I think it’s her who needs therapy

  75. gattagiudecca 1 May 2012, 12:10am

This is a good article.recently on several pink news stories, people have been leaving comments commenting that they will vote UKIP. Hopefully this will show them how dreadfully misguided they are and how the anti-immigrant sentiments of UKIP go hand-in-hand with homophobia.

  76. I take it she has reported these death threats to the police – no, thought not!

    1. Paddyswurds 1 May 2012, 11:08am

I left you a message on MY Stu….

      1. Will go check!

    2. According to her blog she’s now “under police protection”

      1. Yeah right.

      2. Some call it under police protection, others call it detained for being a danger to others. People can make up their own minds I think

      3. She lies… Pathetic really.

  77. Like in ‘Alien, “she’s back!”

  78. I showed my Medical specialist your comments Dr Gasper and it is not looking too good for you!

  79. Staircase2 1 May 2012, 3:01am

    what an idiot…

“But he rejected all this help…” (I’m not surprised given the quality (or lack thereof) of ‘advice’ this welcoming and open-minded person has been dishing out according to this article…

…”beginning to understand how Salman Rushdie felt when denounced by crazy extremists” my arse!

It’s funny how so many extremists start to believe that it’s the people opposing their extremism who are somehow…er…’extreme’…

  80. GingerlyColors 1 May 2012, 6:33am

It’s time that UKIP reined in these mavericks before they end up getting bracketed along with the BNP.

  81. Paul Wishart 1 May 2012, 7:27am

    She’s normal….. by UKIP standards!

    1. Robert in S. Kensington 1 May 2012, 2:01pm

Normal = delusional when it’s the UKIP. They’re going NOWHERE fast, thankfully. A one-off win here or there means nothing.

  82. radioredrafts 1 May 2012, 7:57am

‘The UKIP candidate for Oxford City’s Quarry and Risinghurst ward had written that gay people needed to stop “complaining about persecution” and start expressing “gratitude” to straight people, on whom they are reliant to be born.’

I’ll bet her parents were gay. Seriously though, she should know that gay people have children too.

  83. David Nottingham 1 May 2012, 9:09am

Silly old trout. She won’t get elected anyway!

  84. A UKIP flyer has landed on my door mat. My cross cut shredder is having a nice feed! Yum Yum Yum!

    1. I feel sorry for your shredder!

    2. Oh, I just rip things like that in half then send it back to them in an envelope with no stamp.

    3. Should have been cut into neat squares and placed for use in the smallest room of the house. Then flushed! That is what I do with right-wing propaganda!

  85. This bitter wench is the one that should be sanctioned – she’s so delusional, she thinks people are on her side. Keep spreading your hate, love, it’s doing wonders for UKIP’s reputation.

  86. Gemma Gillon 1 May 2012, 1:04pm

I must admit. I have read some of the LGBT comments against her and THEY are sick. One poster suggested she needed a good shagging, and another that her family should be murderd. Can you imagine if SHE was gay and this was a straight news paper whos readers were blogging such ? Saying that she still is a donkey who needs to be led out of the public square to graze on the grass of whatever shire she comes from…..the scary part is, she has qualitifcatiosn from Oxford, is thsi what that uni are producing now ?

    1. Staircase2 1 May 2012, 7:41pm

I agree Gemma – unfortunately there is a misogynistic tendency to do this when opposing women’s views – especially on the net. Several female writers have addressed this issue and detailed their own experiences of very extreme responses to their work.

The parallel is the way that many online (usually male) posters jump to extremes when addressing Muslim or Black homophobes – its as if people are incapable of taking issue with people without becoming rabid and reactionary themselves…

…Bloody odd behaviour to be honest – and we should all do our best to confront it wherever we find it.

Pink News could be/should be doing a lot more in this regard too – these boards are far too often awash with rabid, knee-jerk reactions to articles…and according to this article, it would appear that Dr Gasper is herself then reacting to the reactionary reactions to her own…er…reactionary reactions…

    2. It is regretable that sometimes the more immature amongst us go over the top in their comments. I have had reason to be dissapointed by the offensive remarks that have been made against women on this site a few times. On the other hand Julia Gasper shouldn’t dish it out herself if she can’t take it.

      1. I agree with all 3 of you. I can’t believe Gemma has been marked down.

    3. A surprising streak of at least average intelligence there from a Pink News reader.
Yes, suggesting that her family should be murdered is about the level of Pink News nutters, – if that is not your level why do you associate with them?

  87. Dr Robin Guthrie 1 May 2012, 1:48pm

    Benjamin Cohen,

“I shall taunt you regularly without let up you twisted old fruit!”

This is a direct threat from this individual.

    Please deal with it appropriately.

  88. I have written to the UKIP party to ask them to do sometching about her and her hate campaign.

    1. mike johnson 1 May 2012, 10:00pm

Abd you should, I will also be doing the same however we must remember that this vile woman is not speaking on behalf of the UKIP she is expressing her own viles views I can say this as I am a member of the UKIP as is my partner and I know a fair few gay people in the party who are appauled by her comments – UKIP are not an anti gay party, and for people to say think that UKIP is all I can say it if one or two people make homophobic remarks make a whole party anti gay then thelib/lab/con are also homophobic remember section 28 ?? – Ken livingstones remarks about gays ( he has said several recently) This Dr Julia isn’t speaking on my behalf or anyone elses except her own and most comments on her about her are right BUT not everyone in UKIP is like her thank god!

      1. “UKIP are not an anti gay party, and for people to say think that UKIP is all I can say it if one or two people make homophobic remarks make a whole party anti gay then thelib/lab/con are also homophobic remember section 28 ??”

I think their current stance on equal marriage would equate them to be an anti-gay party at the moment would it not?

  89. Noted.

Email sent to the officer leading the investigation into you.

Taunting … hmmm, thats a deliberate intent to harass!

    Not very clever are we!

    1. “monkeboy”?

      Evidently not

    2. Dr Robin Guthrie 1 May 2012, 4:34pm

      What’s a monke?

      1. Monkeboy is a freelance ireporter for CNN.

Seems Keith has me confused with someone.

As for his continued harassment, he is just making it worse for him.

I have clearly warned him that I find his conduct to constitute harassment and others have commented that they perceive it to be so. He is aware there is a police investigation ongoing. Yet he continues with his harassment.

Given recent convictions for offensive and harassing conduct on news media, social media and elsewhere – it sounds as though Keith wants to spend time in a police cell.

  90. She tragic and a closet dyke. I feel sorry for her.

    1. I don’t.

    2. No it’s just people like you Keith.

Also, just to point out the irony of you, a man who clearly has an issue with homosexuality(or is it just gay men?), who seems to spend a large amount of his own free time on a website for homosexual individuals calling someone else a basket case. It’s quite amusing tbh

    3. Do you think she’s ‘a closet dyke’ because that’s the worst insult you could think of? I can’t work out why you would say such a thing, or on what information you make this judgment.

  91. Maybe we should go en masse to our GPs and tell them our symptoms. We should say we’re following the advice of ‘Dr’ Gasper and see what happens.

    1. This could get Gasper sectioned. The World Health Organisation stopped classifying homosexuality as a mental illness in 1990. Not sure they’ve dropped delusional, ranting idiots who believe in fairy tales from that list, though.

      1. Then heterosexuality is a choice too, as is wilful stupidity. I feel sorry for heterosexuals, diminished as they are by your purported example.

        1. As you are (obviously) not a scientist, you make this statement as …God, do you? Bless.

        2. You feel sorry for heterosexuals? That certainly sounds barmy.

    2. Good idea!

  92. Just be thankful she isn’t your mother.

  93. I made a number of comments on her blog, and she deleted them as fast as I could write them. My comments were polite and did not use bad language – a habit I wish other people posting comments would observe. Apparently the suggestion that her homophobia might be linked to repressed homosexuality was too much for the poor dear.

After deleting my posts she remarked that only tolerant people have the right to freedom of speech…. Too bad she doesn’t hold herself to that standard.

She is a deeply confused and damaged human being to say the least. I actually feel sorry for her.

And her remarks that she is ‘under police protection’ is such a transparent lie that it pretty much put the nails in her political coffin.

I wrote to UKIP letting them know that a candidate of her calibre was not going to be an asset to their political aspirations.

I have a feeling that she is not a rising star in the world of politics… She doesn’t have a grasp of public relations to be a success.

    1. Good for you. Yes, I’d be curious to read these ‘death threats’ Dr Gasper claims to have received, which are doubtless about as authentic as a Gucci watch in a Chinese market.

Her tactics are hardly new – make some particularly goading, and in her case pitifully daft, remarks about gay people, then when the angry, mocking and sometimes immature responses come, play victim.

  94. Michael Inkpin-Leissner 1 May 2012, 9:31pm

Can a University withdraw the title of PhD from persons unfit to represent the teachings of the school? This woman is an embarrassment for every PhD!

  95. Lyuba Allenivna Tereshchenko 1 May 2012, 9:35pm

    XA XA XA !

This suka is stupid. I’m in Canada; I’d like to see you try to have me ‘sectioned’. Some people do anything for 5 minutes of attention.

  96. And she think we are mad!!!!! Take a look close to home you mad bigot.

  97. Dr Robin Guthrie 1 May 2012, 10:31pm

    Hello Keith

I work for the NPIA as a medical IT consultant, however as you know in any given position you tend to become friends with others in your profession.

The NPIA is the National Police Improvement Agency, and I advise on medical, psychological and IT perspectives.

I’m sorry to read that you are still not coherent with UK laws regarding online abuse.

Please, be very clear that actions have been taken and your continual threats will result in only one outcome.

You can no longer hide behind internet anonymity.

    1. Dr Guthrie

interesting role working to the NPIA – combining forensics, medical, IT and psychology must be entertaining!

    2. The whole of Pink News needs to be investigated for online abuse. It is exists for the main purpose of online abuse. Making threats of this kind is a criminal offence.

  98. Dr Robin Guthrie 1 May 2012, 10:35pm

Despite all the slanderous comments of this woman’s appearance, I still think that she is revolting in what she said about us “thanking heterosexuals” for existing and now crying victim when we tell her to F off..

    How dare she.

I will thank Heterosexuals when they DROP their bloody religions and get real.

  99. Dear Oxford voters, please show this woman that people like her should not be in any position of power. So far she’s insulted homosexuals and those with mental health problems; just the type of woman we want having a say in society that should protect both these sub-groups! I don’t think so!

  100. I would reply but she’s not worth it. Salman Rushdie my arse. She’s congenitally deranged.

  101. Her cold evil stare give me goosebumps.

    1. You just sound completely mad. You are vilifying a harmless normal person because you are crazy yourself.

  102. Sad. Goes to show you that any ignorant ass can get a Doctorate degree.

    1. Roweena Russell 2 May 2012, 2:43pm

I am delighted to report that the e mails from Julia Gasper have now stopped. I have contacted UKIP to ask them what they intend to so about the situation. They said that they are going to do NOTHING. I have asked for this in writing and they said its too sensitive at this election time to get in to it.

  103. Caped crusaider 4 May 2012, 11:13am

Unfortunate charity pride london emailed donor was ‘a nutter’ roumd the office and then accidently emailed it to them! Lol -they have yet to apologise:-D mmm nice photo of ben

  104. caped crusaider 6 May 2012, 10:24am

You could always get a Job in The London AIDS Charity Sector they spent £900,000-00 encouraging people living with HIV off their benefits only to make them redundant !!!!

I mean really – is this a sick joke or what

  105. caped crusaider 6 May 2012, 10:27am

Try a Job in the London AIDS Charity Sector after losing £150,000- on the UKC 2005 Hero Awards Staff claim management got £15,000-00 Pay rises while emailing Crusaids HIV redundant staff “SH*T HAPPENS”

  106. caped crusaider 6 May 2012, 10:30am

People Living with HIV/AIDS in the UK like your website Ben, its the first one to be “transparent upfront and honest” with them about the London AIDS Charity Cover-ups – Congratulations Perhaps a Award from Stonewall is deserved, for allowing Free Speech 8-)

  107. The venomous, aggressive, abusive and ranting messages on this site just go to prove that what she said about you lot being mental is true.
You are bullies, you are foul-mouthed and you all have a highly-developed paranoia.

  108. This site is oozing with spiteful bitchiness. Foul-mouthed abuse, violent fantasies, it’s horrific! What a collection of deranged ranters.

  109. To Dr Robin Guthrie
I am glad to see that somebody is taking steps about the online abuse, menace and death threats on this site. I would encourage you to go further and pursue the site owners, not just a few specimens like Keith.

  110. Jane Baker 6 Mar 2013, 7:01pm

If Dr Gaga or whatever her name is is opposed to gay marriage for religious reasons-I suggest she should give up being a hypocrite and stick with her bible teachings:
“I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent.” Timothy 2:11
