The only good thing about these murders is that their victims will no longer live in fear, misery and depression. A sad and traumatic end, but probably better than a miserable lifetime in Iran as a gay man.

  2. No matter who you are no matter where you are on earth, killing another person for a crime is a crime. Killing another person for any crime is murder. Murdering another person is a crime. Murdering a person for a crime is a crime against humanity. Stop executing people and imprison them. Being gay is not a crime. Stop the madness.

If I was as “straight” as it’s possible to be and lived in Iran I would be outraged by this medieval barbarity.

But I would be outraged anyway at the notion of some theocratic loons telling or my wife how we should dress.

At least no one can blame it on British colonialism this time. What a vile disgusting regime they have in Iran. Once again, religion rearing its ugly head.

  6. It’s like something out the middle ages, I can’t believe it happens in the world today. What’s more, the ideology behind this mass murder is promoted in only a slightly different form by groups like Christian Concern, CARE, and other neo-fascist so-called ‘Christian’ lobby groups here in the UK. They would ultimately have this kind of practice back in the UK, firm in the belief that they were doing God’s work. What madness.

Indeed they would, Karl, good point. None of them would condemn it either. Most of the ‘christian’ right wing groups are in part responsible for a lot of the violence against gay people with their vile, disgusting remarks as we’re seeing with the equal marriage consultation. Equating our marrying with polygamy, incest and bestiality is beyond offensive. It’s a form of hate speech but because of the sociopathic nature of these people, they are unable to discern truth from lies, both are interchangeable to them as long as it advances their agenda which is to theocratise our government into submission. We’re gradually seeing a slow infestation of them in Parliament. They are the forces of and for evil, no question about it.

I’m utterly shocked by the claim that “at least 4000″ gay and lesbian people have been executed in Iran since 1979. I had no idea. It makes me feel physically sick. What can we do about this? I want to do something.

The last time that gays were murdered in any number was during the Holocaust which the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denies ever happened.

this is so sad. these are so many of us working for us to have the same legal rights as all people, but we have to battle, Christians and Molems, both groups seem to feel it is ok to murder people for who they love. Get real all of you who read this and think it is OK to refuse us the same rights as you enjoy, one day you could be on the receivng end. Here in the UK, people love pork, do you think that will be allowed if the Moslems take over, Imagine if they then decide to kill any one cought eating pork.

All I can say is let the Iranian government continue with their nuclear programme and develop the bomb because at the end of the day they will end up giving themselves enough rope to hang themselves with. It is not just the West that Iran doesn’t get on with, the mainly Shia country also hates the mainly Sunni Arab countries. Sooner or later things will boil over in the Middle East and it is the Iranians who are going to get their backsides kicked.

  13. If government officials and religious leaders commit genocide like this against GLBTA people, then those officials and leaders should suffer the punishment for genocide. Nothing dictates the GLBTA community has to permit those guilty of genocide against the GLBTA community to escape punishment for genocide.

    1. I wonder why we never hear anything from the likes of the Hague on issues like this. Or do they only get involved when it is ‘ethnic groups’ being slaughtered. Iran says these people were Gay or Lesbian so thats OK then!!! What a joke. The Hague is supposed to bring those who commit crimes against humanity to justice. Should it not therefore be time that they done something. I won’t hold my breath. RIP all those brithers and sisters murdered since 1979. May you finally find peace.
