Good on Liverpool.
Now what about every other major town in the UK following their lead?
This is not some pro-gay political bandwagon, it is an active method of saying to people a) it is OK to be gay, and b) homophobia is wrong, and destroys lives.
For sure but it ain’t gonna happen in London unfortunately. I can’t imagine the plebs in the borough of Tower Hamlets being particularly keen to support anything other than equality.
It would be nice to see Paul McCartney and Ringo Star who are from Liverpool to say something about homophobia. Their songs were all about love and LGBT people could use a little help from their friends about now. Their manager Brian was gay and maybe they could say something nice about him in relation to homophobia.
Excellent!!! Good on them, we have Black History Month and the likes and God forbid we should forget to acknowledge those dates so IDAHO is a great idea.
Many knock Liverpool especially southerners with out ever even been here….BUT WE ARE LEADING THE WAY for gay equality…street names with the rainbow flag….etc….well done my city…and im not even a scoucer…
I used live in london and it is extremely homophobic and backward with relation to visibility and yet i have only met londoners who are so insulated they assume , everyone up north is primitive and inferior to them concerning their phoney tolerance of diversity.
I was transphobically attacked in London a few years back while dressed as a transvestite. Was only walking through Notting Hill minding my own business till a large group of young men started shouting abuse. Yet I’ve walked up and down Liverpool night and day city centre without a murmur. So much for the capital eh…
Magnificent initiative from Merseyside. For those interested in what’s going on in IDAHO around the world-please see http://www.dayagainsthomophobia.org
and in the UK, http://www.idahouk.org
By the way Haiti is the latest of the 90 countries who mark IDAHO around the world.

Never been so proud to be a scouser, glad to see so many of the companies here showing the support.
Me too.
Planting pansies? I really wish I wasn’t gay so I could take the piss. How is that helping??

Why didn’t you list the 50 organisations, or at least provide a link?

Perhaps the councils in Cheshire could do something like this after all we all pay our council taxes.
