  1. Damn right it was refused. Unfortunately though, his insistence on appealing shows (to me at least) that he has absolutely no remorse for what he did. Disgusting.

All in all a very encouraging verdict here in the wee north….This result confirms taht Ireland is well on its way to normality….

Ireland is normal. The best place to live, better quality of life, nicer people, neighbours who look out fir each other and a much more relaxed attitude to life than the Brits……..

  3. A victory for common sense, justice and humanity.

Is County Tylone near County Tyrone?

      @?…
…If you are going to be sniping about typos at least try to get your snipe right. The typo is Tyrole.

Shaun Fitzpatrick was denied the right to his life so it is only fair that Ramunas Balseris should be denied an appeal against his conviction. An I hope that should Balseris and his accomplace ever get the chance to return to Lithuania they will find that Eastern Europe has become a far more tolerant place than it is now.

  6. thank you ireland for keeping this disgusted person locked behind bars!

yay for common sense & justice!

  7. Great comments, everyone! Justice must rule!! I wish that gay men would learn to fight back and arm themselves. This kind of tragedy happens all too often. Where’s the anger, where’s the rage??!

  8. Gay men do fight back and win but it does not make the news. We are usually only attacked by surprise, when we are drunk and alone or by more than one person at a time which makes the odds unfair but when scum are fended off it wouldn’t be newsworthy so we don’t hear much about it but rest assured we can and do fight back!

  9. Deport the b@st@rds. Let them rot in their own country. Do not come to other countries that are LGBT friendly and show your homophobia. I hope they rot in jail for the rest of their lives. Hopefully they’ll have some fun time in the showers!!!!
