    Point and laugh.

  2. And the iceberg wins at the end.. woo!

    1. Mumbo Jumbo 17 Apr 2012, 4:16pm

      Icebergs are cool.

  3. The good ship Gay hits the iceberg and we all go down on Leo DiCaprio?

    1. Well, count me in for that!

    2. Quiet on set. Cue music, cue Celion Dion… action….

    3. Mmh so there is hope yet!

  4. Another day, another bloody ministry learning from the example of 1930s Germany – pick an “other”, vilify them, blame them and use them to consolidate wealth and power and so what if people get hurt.

    Religion poisons everything.

  5. Paranoid posturing . . .

Lets hope the ministry sinks without trace.

    1. Dr Robin Guthrie 17 Apr 2012, 2:10pm

      Not a chance.

It is a renamed version of the Coral Ridge Ministries and has 9 million followers who happily give this lot money.

      They are very dangerous indeed.

They are on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, etc etc etc.

Their purpose is to use new media to spread their fervent religious poison.

If you want to see how batsh!t crazy these money grabbing equality denying evangelicals are head on over to http://www.truthinaction.org/

      1. Robin, thanks for the link

        I see what you mean . . .

In one word – Nasty – so to speak

  6. Maybe if they didn’t go full steam ahead, dispute all warnings, advice & facts, they wouldn’t of hit the iceberg in the first instance!

  7. “We’ve already hit the iceberg and the ship is already going down”.
It’s almost like they’re assuming that we’ll get all their seamen.
(Since we’re already in dodgy analogyland.)

  8. As much as I love watching appaling videos, very few of them manage to make me outright say “Holy S**t”. Well played, Right Wing Watch, well played….

  9. I always love the way that the religious groups cry about “religious persecution” whenever people step in and stop them from persecuting against the minorities

  10. Homosexuality has been a natural part of humanity since the dawn of civilsation and beyond.

There is more evidence that we have enhanced society than damaged it.

What a stupid metaphor… ice berg.. Titanic… give me a break.

  11. ‘In the film, a radio host and author called William Federer warns that there are “just a couple steps before the military could be used in a persecution of those that are viewed as enemies of the new state belief system [favouring gays]“.’
What with all these paranoid military fantasies and Titanic metaphors, I’m left with the impression that someone in Truth in Action Ministries has spent a bit too long analysing the Village people video for “In the Navy” on youtube.

  12. Keith Farrell 17 Apr 2012, 2:14pm

I cannot understand, is stupidity a disease of this group of people or were they born that way. we don’t want much, just equal rights, the same as any person. How is giving us the same rights going to destroy the human race, surely giving us the same rights will mean that all of us are human together. I don’t want to think about what they do in bed, that is their business, the same as they have nothing to do with what my husband and I do in bed, that is our business. If we can allow them to have their rights, why can they not do the same for me.

    1. Most sensible comment I’ve read all day. Well done sir!

  13. I thought the Titanic sank because it had a flawed design, and the owners were so arrogant they couldn’t believe it would sink.
It was also characterised as being a perfect microcosm of everything that was wrong with society.
Not enough lifeboats to save the souls when it went down because the steerage pasengers didn’t matter.

Maybe the analogy is better than we think. It’s sinking was only a matter of waiting for the right iceberg to hit it in the right place.

  14. No wonder so many people hate christians.

  15. What many ‘Christians’ fail to realise is that the Bible is mans interpretation of the word of God. As man is apparently fundamentally flawed then it makes sense that half of it has been misinterpreted. There is evidence that homosexuality was around during Jesus time and before and yet Jesus never turned anyone away and never judged anyone. What then gives these people the right to judge. It pisses me off. Who the hell do they think they are to judge me when Religion has nearly destroyed Humanity on more than one occasion. I have yet to hear of any wars started over sexuality!!!

  16. Does anyone know what the ‘homosexual agenda’ is?

    1. homosexual agenda:-
      1. Achieve equality.
      2. See (1)

    2. Wasn’t it a B Class submarine, along with its sister ships the Glenda and the Brenda?

    3. Mumbo Jumbo 17 Apr 2012, 4:23pm

The homosexual agenda is set out here by Mrs Betty Bowers (America’s Best Christian) leader of Baptists Are Saving Homosexuals (BASH):

      http://goo.gl/WDcQZ

Enjoy. Praise the Lord. Then bookmark.

      1. haha brilliant!

      2. That is fantastic!

  17. the video would definitely benefit from Céline Dion’s ‘my heart will go on’ soundtrack

    1. No way!! Nothing would benefit from that, not even James Cameron’s film :-D

      1. but at least it would be unbearable to watch

  18. The paranoia of religion – religion only works when there’s a “hidden” enemy to fear.

Utter nonsense of course for anyone with an IQ over that of a turnip….

    1. Yes, you are right. The concept of “satan” is no longer credible with the sane so Gays will do as a substitute. Ideal for Orwellian two minute hate sessions during each service.

  19. A vainglorious metal behemoth, sunk by a force of nature.

Hmm. Perhaps not that bad an analogy.

  20. They seem to be going flat out in an attempt to justify and vindicate the “militant atheists”.?

But imagine the whining shock horror if an atheist organisation spoke so bluntly about them.

  21. Well personally I am glad to be part of the moral iceberg.

The US is not the Titanic. Religious cults are the Titanic.

If I can be of assistance in destroying religion then I will very proudly serve that mission.

  22. Fifty years ago (and no doubt now, still simmering below their glossy exteriors) as they tried to subdue African Americans, these people thought big and white was the way to go! Boy, how times change! Whose next after they’ve failed against us I wonder?

    1. immigrants probably.

  23. Wub Folfsky 17 Apr 2012, 4:45pm

So according to the religious people…
    Same-sex love = wrong

But their message is everyone should love ‘Jesus’… Who is a man… Therefore they are promoting men to praise, worship and love another man…

  24. 2 / 10. Obvious troll is obvious but you got me to comment.

  25. So, the “homosexual agenda” – that old chestnut. Lets assume it is true (I havent seen this agenda!) and that there is one … surely LGBT people have a better functioning moral compass (shiny and scientific!) and we have a built in radar (gaydar). We can steer a course built on perspective, facts and deduction – rather than blindly follow texts that were written by numerous different authors many centuries ago!.

If the ministry is the Titanic, and LGBT people are the iceberg – well we all know what happened to the Titanic! They were sure that the Titanic was “unsinkable”, the ministry is sure of its rhetoric (it will be shown to be as sinkable).

The army being used to control PMSLROFL!

Whoever came up with the anaology sounds a closet case to me – sailors, army uniforms, seamen ….

  26. The anti-gay Christians use black propaganda like this to discredit LGBT people, it is a form of psychological war fare to destroy their enemy. Some of these anti-gay Christians are CIA and military trained in psy-ops to destroy their enemy. These anti-gay Christians have lost their minds and are using psy-ops and any way they can to destroy LGBT Americas.

  27. Peter & Michael 17 Apr 2012, 7:00pm

No doubt about it, the ship went down, including most of those including Gay people who sailed in the Titanic. That is why we are all remembering that event a hundred years ago. RIP.

  28. Peter & Michael 17 Apr 2012, 7:02pm

‘That is why we are all remembering the event a hundred years since’

  29. An interesting metaphor considering that from the disign of the ship, if the Titanic had hit the iceberg straight on it probably would not have sunk.

  30. “As you’re about to see the moral iceberg is ripping a hole in the structure of America…”
Deary me, this analogy is painting quite a vivid mental picture isn’t it?
I’m thinking perhaps the Titanic might have recovered quicker if it had used more lube.

  31. The real iceberg as far as fundamentalist Christianity is concerned, is reality and Reason.

Fundamentalism was already in icy waters at the time of David Hume and Thomas Paine, and the day of the Lisbon earthquake and tsunami (All Saints Day 1755, when everyone was in church). It struck struck the Berg with the publication of the Origin of Species in 1859.

The arrival of the internet is the moment the ship broke in two. Now there is this obstinate lot hanging on to the stern, bobbing in the water. In time, it will eventually succomb. The incumbent Archbishop of Canterbury has looked at his watch and seen that it is 2:05 and jumped into the last lifeboat.

    1. And they said any room for doubt was… Unthinkable. :-)

  32. GingerlyColors 18 Apr 2012, 7:13am

When America sinks, I just hope that there are not enough lifeboats for the homophobes.

  33. GingerlyColors 18 Apr 2012, 7:25am

After 100 years the Titanic story still fascinates as the ship represented a microcosm of society as it was then. Women did not even have the vote then, and as for gays, well it still happened then as it always had albiet within the closet for fear of prosecution. With over 2,200 people on board the Titanic it makes me wonder if any gay encounters occured on board that ship as it sailed to it’s destiny. Many films have been made about the disaster, often featuring fictional storylines and fictional characters set against the backdrop of the sinking. The 1997 film starring Leo Dicaprio and Kate Winslett being a good example although the best film about the actual sinking is still ‘A Night To Remember’. Maybe a future fim about the Titanic could feature a gay couple – I’m sure it happened on board that ship!

  34. “like the titanic thought it could handle the icebergs” … erm no thats not what happened at all, they took evasive maneuvers too late and the iceberg ripped a whole in the side of the ship. If they hit it head on they probably would not have sunk.

    1. so by that analogy you need to hit the nail on the head, any attempt at avoiding the issue and skirting around it will in fact cause a hole to rip in the hull of America and be its undoing.

  35. are some of theses nuts real religion has brainwashed people for centuries too bad 21st century has taken over

  36. Let’s break it down:

    Gays = Iceberg

    Religon/Conservatives = Titanic

    Okay let’s go…

So the religious geniuses have now stated that gay people and their secret agenda is the modern day ‘iceberg’ that will destroy the “Titanic” (= religion, conservative values) if we don’t do something about it. They also state that history will repeat itself…
They do realize that Titanic crashed in to the iceberg and sank right??

So what they’re saying is quite ironic… That would mean that gay rights will eventually win and the conservative homophobes will lose (since they proclaim themselves as the Titanic).

Okay i see your point! AND I AGREE! You WILL lose the war and your bigoted values will be destroyed by what’s right and people will be one step close to being happy and equal!

but seriously..how dumb can they be?
