    How convenient.

    1. The trouble with priests is, they are so used to people believing, unquestioningly the nonsense they say in the pulpit that they think the real world is the same.

      1. Yeah, they think everybody is stupid.

        1. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:22pm

Stupid enough not to realise the images were on a memory stick.

    2. Maybe the dog ate the laptop!

      1. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:23pm

        And the memory stick.

        1. Craig Denney 13 Apr 2012, 2:36pm

How come the Police do not have the memory stick as evidence?

It’s one law for them and another law for us.

    3. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:21pm

Not really, the images were on the memory stick, not the laptop. So unless they are claiming that was stolen too, the inquiry should be able to go ahead.

That said, I don’t see what the fuss is, we all know that 67% of catholic priests are said to be gay; it’s perfectly ok for them to masturbate if they wish, though if it’s a sin, they would simply have to confess it and all is forgiven.

    4. The Pope stole the lap top and is hiding it and the little children who the Catholic pedophile priest raped and abused. You know they are lying and breaking their commandments, yet these criminals are being helped to get away with it. Who are the criminal people behind these criminals who help them evade justice? It is called aiding and abetting a crime or criminal act and it is a crime itself. Never thought I would see the day when the worlds religious leaders in the Christian church would become no better than common criminals. They are no better than any gang that commits a crime yet they say they are and some fools still believe them. How many crimes do these Christians have to commit before something is done to round them up and put them in prison?

  2. Paula Thomas 13 Apr 2012, 10:22am

Pull the other one, it plays ‘Glad to be Gay’

  3. This is a little too convenient for my liking!

  4. Unbelievable!

  5. Spanner1960 13 Apr 2012, 10:32am

    God moves in mysterious ways.
Not half as mysterious as the Catholic Church though…

  6. They should’ve taken some other stuff too to make it a bit less unbelievable. Stoopid Cat-liks.

    1. Exactly, what else was stolen?

What leads do the PSNI have?

      1. Spanner1960 13 Apr 2012, 11:40am

Apparently a years subscription to “Kinky Altar Boy Monthly” has also disappeared.

  7. LOL. Just LOL.

  8. Err hello! Can you please update this item with details of the porn genre. Interracial? Bear on Boy? Tnx xx

    1. Barely legal know that lot.

  9. This is just a bit sad, really.

  10. Maybe it’s been moved to another parish?

    1. Nearly choked on my coffee laughing at that.

    2. Mumbo Jumbo 13 Apr 2012, 12:27pm

      LOL

  11. Polly Conroy 13 Apr 2012, 11:33am

And Father McVeigh thinks we will believe this?

    Well, yes, probably.

  12. Has the burglary been reported to PSNI?

When did the burglary take place?

Has the memory stick that was mentioned in the initial story also been stolen?

It sounds extremely convenient and duplicitous to me … perhaps I am being cynical … I suspect I am being realistic!

    1. So, the burglary has been reported. Did it occur around the time this became a matter of media concern?

Still intrigued as to what happened to the memory stick.

  13. Is Fr McVeigh aware that making a false report to the police of burglary is attempting to pervert the course of justice when this is involved in another police investigation.

The PSNI should consider this as one of the avenues of investigation.

  14. Spanner1960 13 Apr 2012, 11:44am

    Call the Police!
    Call the Church!

    Call the Church Police!

  15. We got the coffee, we got the sugar, we got the soya milk, we got the gas for to give us a hot hot fire but today we got no Laptop. The Lord sure does work in mysterious ways.

    1. Fabulous ROFL

    2. Perfect… Just perfect ROFL

  16. I think it’s quite obvious; the priest’s boyfriend took it back to his flat to redo the slideshow so it doesn’t have so much of the church stuff on the presentation. The boyfriend promised to bring it right back, but their adolescent models, the open-robed alter boys, wanted more money once they realized all of the news surrounding the controversy. In the mean time, the Bishop is refusing to release the flash drive, until he can make a copy for himself and one for the Vatican for “official papal scrutiny”.

    1. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:30pm

Don’t forget to send one to the Poo-poo Pastor in Uganda so he can give another show to his congregants and their children. Oh, hang on he’s on trial for blackmail.

  17. Suddenly Last Bummer 13 Apr 2012, 12:24pm

Nothing else was taken? So the ‘thief’ got away with a only a laptop, albeit a laptop full of porn. Every cloud etc….if I were to believe one word of what this priest said

    1. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:31pm

Maybe he accidentally left it by an open window.

  18. Garry Cassell 13 Apr 2012, 1:32pm

Yes, would you believe? How stupid?? Do the police really buy this story, again they probably do…could be some of them may be featured on the video…Not the first time police were in cohoots with the catholic church..

  19. He should be arrested for false reporting and perverting the course of justice! What a crook!

  20. Garry Cassell 13 Apr 2012, 1:34pm

Why does it seem that only certain comments are accepted here.

    1. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:32pm

It’s an illusion of the mystic web. They reappear again.

  21. None of you seem to be taking the Priests feelings into consideration.

I’d be really upset if someone stole my porn collection.

    1. are you for real m8 ? you REALLY need to get out more & GET A LIFE !

      1. And you need to acquire a sense of humour! If you can’t see the joke, you need to get out more! How embarrasing!

        1. SWIVEL !

  22. Cheesus of Nazareth 13 Apr 2012, 2:10pm

Father Nokneesinmykecks prayed and lo, it just vanished in a puff of smoke. Them local porm thieves is just everywhere you can’t have nothin for them. Now do you believe in miracles? Nope.

  23. God moves in a mysterious (not to say very handy!) way.
I’m sure the poor priest can’t WAIT for his property to be returned.

Moral: be sure you check carefully before you stick anything in anything else you don’t know intimately.

  24. If the archdiocese had really been serious about conducting an investigation, the laptop would have already been removed from McVeigh’s home and been held in a secure location. When that laptop does turn up, I’m sure the only fingerprints to be found on it will be Catholic.

  25. Father Jack 13 Apr 2012, 2:35pm

There are no accidents. God, or his own subconscious, outed him for a reason.

  26. Suddenly Last Bummer 13 Apr 2012, 2:43pm

With his laptop gone what is he going to w@nk over now?

    1. he.ll just rape a alter boy i guess ! dirty b******s need hanging !

      1. & those of you thumbing me down are as BAD !

      2. Heteropride.. Great 2B Straight!.. 14 Apr 2012, 9:23pm

Yes. Another homosexual priest will homosexually rape another child!

  27. hmmmm . VERY convenient ! the catholic church are the biggest hypocrites in religion !

  28. praise god ’tis anoder miracle!

  29. I suggest the police start their investigation by questioning by Pope

  30. I do hope it really was stolen: it would surely end up at News Corp. Sadly I don’t have much hope.

  31. Spanner1960 13 Apr 2012, 4:57pm

What’s the bets it will show up in a weeks time with the hard drive either deleted or missing?

    1. Oh….about 8 million to 1. So…pounds or euros?

  32. Another Hannah 13 Apr 2012, 5:13pm

I don’t know why their bothering to be honest. Nobody outside these baclwards churches is much bothered about this, and it really is utter peanuts compared to stolen spanish babies, child abuse, and anti-abortion stance for teenage rape victims. Most “normal” human beings are far more bothered about those things, it is only the RC and other churches with their twisted sense of reality morals that are concerned about this.

    1. Another Hannah 13 Apr 2012, 7:24pm

oops mean they’re of course. I say this becuase I’m shocked at how little sympathy there is for this unfortunate brain washed mouse. He hasn’t thought things through, and they’re ruining his life with their cruel brain-washing. I really do think you could show a bit more concern for the unfortunate twit.

  33. doesn’t the church ban pornography? let alone homosexual porn?

  34. My, isn’t that a convenient turn of events…

  35. Paddyswurds 13 Apr 2012, 7:46pm

Please Sir the dog ate my homework…..yea right….!!

  36. Not surprising — I know of a Baptist preacher who surfs the net, looking for (shall we say) ways to relieve his tension. And then he prays and repents. And then, he cleans the screen of the computer.

    1. David Waite 14 Apr 2012, 12:23am

Are you sure he’s a Baptist? If so, I would expect him to clean the screen before praying, because Baptists pray long enough for paint (and other substances) to dry thoroughly.

  37. the devil made him do it!

  38. David Waite 14 Apr 2012, 12:28am

HOUSEKEEPER: “Father McVeigh! Your laptop has been stolen!”
    FATHER McVEIGH: “Praise the Lord!”

  39. Any one ever think that Fr. McVeigh could possibly be innocent and some NASTY minded being could simply have ‘set him up’?

    1. David Waite 14 Apr 2012, 7:03pm

Maybe it’s just my unfortunate upbringing by Dominionist missionary parents that ‘informs’ my thinking on this, but here is my take: An innocent and totally gobsmacked presenter is unlikely to run from the room after inserting the wrong thumb drive. A man horrified by having just inadvertently outed himself might well flee. Think Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion..”
I would expect an innocent presenter to stay in the room looking amazed and angry and puzzled. There is a good reason why proverbs are platitudes; they reflect human nature responses to life’s little contretemps. Still, I have to give you a thumbs up for your thoroughly Christian withholding of judgement, and I mean that in a non-snarky way.

    2. Spanner1960 15 Apr 2012, 6:18pm

Er… Let me think about that… er… Nope.

    3. “Any one ever think that Fr. McVeigh could possibly be innocent and some NASTY minded being could simply have ‘set him up’?”

Unless you have even one shred of proof of this, the evidence indicates otherwise. Ever think that your “theory” that he’s innocent is just you’re desperate need to vilify anyone else other than your diseased church?

  40. it’s not ‘theft’ if you hide it yourself…

  41. Peter Gregory 14 Apr 2012, 2:23pm

Were they smallie boyz? The article doesn’t mention their age (age of consent = 12 in Vatican city unless they’ce changed it).

    1. David Waite 14 Apr 2012, 7:35pm

If it’s any comfort to you, Peter Gregory, and assuming ‘comfort’ is what you seek with your question, the article, though not speculative on actual ages of the models, does refer to the pics as “pornographic gay images,” not ‘pornographic images of children.’ I presume you know the legal, moral and journalistic difference between those two things.

A gay person might be into gay porn. A pedophile is into kiddie porn. I’m betting a bunch of parents of primary school kids would know the difference between the two kinds of porn, and would certainly report kiddie porn as such if that is what they saw.

“The age of consent in Italy [and Vatican City] is 14 years, with a close-in-age exception that allows those aged 13 to engage in sexual activity with partners who are less than 3 years older. The age of consent rises to 16 if one of the participants has some kind of influence on the other (e.g. teacher, tutor, adoptive parent).” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Vatican_City

  42. How did they manage to report that and keep a stright face? (no pun intended)

  43. Something is rotten in the state of northern ireland (oh and don’t lets get into the whole is it a state/country/province/whatever I really don’t care, I was just making a weak Shakespeare reference)

  44. Wow…what a coincidence! Who’d’ve thunk it! Dudes…so not born yesterday…
