Gay arts festival seeks submissions

  1. Is this article supposed to inspire submissions to the festival?
If so it would seem particularly perverse that this LGBT news outlet mentions that the festival is looking for gay submissions but not LBTQI ones.

I think you’ll find that the word ‘gay’ is being used as an umbrella term – perhaps they should have used the word ‘Queer’ instead…

Gay is Male homosexual – LGBT is the umbrella term.
        Queer is simply bloody offensive.

And it is pretty clear in both the article and the actual webpage that theyre interested in LGBTQ & I! (the ‘i’ rarely gets a look in usually and is most welcome – but LGBTQI is a tad on the unwieldy side doncha think…?)

    3. Perverse? Strange choice of word. They are looking for LGBT or GLBT films. Why is it PC for there to be Lesbian Filmmakers only film festivals and Transgender Filmmakers only film festivals but you think it would be perverse to have a Gay Male Filmmakers only festival?
