Gloucester police have released an image of a bite injury sustained by a man who was subjected to homophobic abuse in an early-morning assault.

The victim was one of two men subjected to a homophobic attack in Mill Street on Sunday March 25 at 5am.

The 18-year-old and 21-year-old men had intervened in an argument between a man and a woman, police said, objecting to the way the woman was being addressed.

The man then followed the pair, biting one on the shoulder and breaking the other’s nose.

While e-fit images of the man and woman are being collated, officers are urging anyone who can identify the man and woman who were arguing or anyone with any information about the incident to come forward on the new non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 82 of March 25.

Alternatively, you can also give information anonymously on 0800 555 111.
