  1. Sad people let the Mormon and Christian religions stop them from having sex and enjoying life and living. These Churches have truly become an oppressive monster in the lives of people they seek to control down to the private sex lives of people and who they love and how they love. However it is up to the person to find out that it is only an idea or words that these religious fanatics use to control the minds of people and that these religious fanatics really have no power over their bodies other than the power they give them or agree with. It is a bit like when you grow up and realize that you can live your own life with out your parents taking care of you because you find out that you can take care of yourself. My advice for these people who are being controlled by these oppressive religions is to wake up and rise above them and make your own life. This is what the religious fanatics are really afraid of, that you will rise up and realize their grip on your mind can be broken free,<3

What is this word “become” you so misuse?

Religious institutions have -always- been opressive. Religions only need to -proscribe- that which they cannot provide a better alternative too.

Devoutness has never been as good as sex. 8-)

  2. No particular sympathy or concern for BYU students or members of the Mormon cult. Collaborate in your own oppression, live with the consequences.

But we all know it’s bunk. Of course they aren’t being chaste – they’re just working harder on not getting caught.

Yes, hundreds of horny students on a campus together, never having sex. Good luck with that one.

    2. I think you’ll find most organizations are reformed from within.

Also it’s a university not a police state, you’re not going to get “caught” unless you shag in the quad or something!

Also, many of them may have only got funding for their education there, either from their parents or scholarships.

You clearly don’t know about -this- university.

BYU is, in fact, a police state. There is a very real “inform on your neighbor” drive and morality police. Part of the reaons is that -parents- demand it be so.

This particular church uses the classics for draconian control. Give the inherently powerless control over their peers is a big one. (Boys at 12 become “deacons” and at 14 become “Teachers” and then “Priests” at 16. They can order any woman around and are encouraged to police each other etc. It’s classic paranoid control tactics.)

There is a classic mormon joke. It’s classic because it’s true: “Why must you always take two or more Mormons fishing? Because if you bring only one he will drink all your beer.”

        1. So despite the fact you presume that they were sent there by their parents and was probably their most realistic opportunity for tertiary education you still have no sympathy for them? Sweet.

    George Orwell:

The aim of the Party was not merely to prevent men and women from forming loyalties which it might not be able to control. Its real, undeclared purpose was to remove all pleasure from the sexual act. Not love so much as eroticism was the enemy, inside marriage as well as outside it. All marriages between Party members had to be approved by a committee appointed for the purpose and – though the principle was never clearly stated – permission was always refused if the couple concerned gave the impression of being physically attracted to one another. The only recognized purpose of marriage was to beget children for the service of the Party.

    1. 1984 seems to be increasingly rather less relevant than it ever has been in our society.

I wonder if any religious gatherings have considered incorporating a “two minute hate” into their services with a power point image of a prominent gay, past or present, for everyone to shout abuse at?

      1. I meant increasingly rather than less. Missed the “than” out:-9

  4. So they’re making an “it gets better” video about a lifetime of pent-up sexual frustration and abstinence.
Wow… so much to look forward to. I can’t wait till I’m old enough not to have sex.
I hope they’ve got some hobbies to keep them busy.

    1. These Mormons are being used or are brain washed to try and hijack the “It gets better” program by posting propaganda that is false and misleading because it dose not state that they can or will not have sex as gay Mormons. This is the kind of propaganda the LGBT community needs to wake up to and the fact the Mormons and Christians are using propaganda any way they can to destroy the gay movement. Mormons are just as mad as the Catholics when it comes to religions, that is why they are teaming up, both of them are religious fanatics who will stoop to do anything to stop gays and I do mean anything. We have been investigating them. We have found that they are using these celibate Mormon and Christian gays to carry out secret actions in the gay community to get information and disrupt LGBT people and LGBT groups from within.

      1. Honestly I think it’s a lot more straightforward than that.
It’s bog-standard religious cognative disonnance, encouraged by the Mormon church.
“We fully support your coming to terms with your gay identity so long as you never act on it and always bear in mind that although god loves you unconditionally he also thinks you’re a worthless degenerate perv”.
You know the old Groucho Marx line about never joining any club that would have him as a member… it’s something like that.
Been there, done that, ditched the T-shirt.

      2. I think it’s a little more simple than that, the university is willing to turn a blind eye and bend the rules than throw them out. I don’t think the students filmed the video suggesting they were chaste. You’re all rather para.

  5. Christians teach people to fear God but what they also teach is to fear or obey men who teach about God. This fear of God and the men who teach about God make the poor fools who have weak minds fall victims to these slave masters or evil men who say they are men of God who just really want to keep control of people. These “teachers” can be just as evil as any slave master who wants to keep his slaves in line and under the whip of the master who in fact are most often mad man who like to keep people down and stupid and confused and pawns for their profit much like the white Christian slave masters of the American south before the Civil War freed the slaves who became educated and worked for themselves as free men.

I dread the day we get all these private colleges and uni’s run by religious cults and fundies, in this country.

  7. Yes it gets better.

And it starts by accepting that ‘god’ is fake and that the mormon cult is a useless, bigotted, insane cult that has nothing of value to give the world.
