Just a few things, I’m really glad tht this story has been picked up by Pink News, but Channel 4 has nothing to do with S4C these days, it’s an entirely seperate channel and has been since the digital switchover. Also Wales is generally quite a forward thinking country, and S4C is starting to show this in its programmes, it’s never been shy about showing gay characters in its soap, Pobl y Cwm, or in shows like Caerdydd. There have also been a few documentarys lately, following Tina Sparkle, Wales’ only Welsh speaking Drag Act, and veteran BBC Wales DJ Chris Needs.

They did have gay couples on Mr & Mrs on the ITV version a few years ago when was presented by Philip Schofield and Fern Britton.

I still remember Cilla having apoplexy at the idea of having gays on Blind Date years ago.
I don’t think this is news these days, even in Wales, which brought us Torchwood and Capn Jack.
Now THAT would have been a laugh.
George Takei and his partner Brad Altman were on with Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield- it was called “Celebrity Mr and Mrs”
Hope it is well received, although there will probably be some sort of orchestrated knee jerk reaction from the holy ones.
