  1. That’s great news by – why do so many studies ignore female sexuality in every species?

    1. Well, the society of the bonobos, also known as dwarf chimpanzees, is mainly matriarchal and almost entirely homosexual. Since the chimpanzees are our closest relatives that’s a very important occurence of female homosexuality in the animal kingdom.

  2. “…most male dolphins are also members of ‘second order alliances’ which contain between four and 14 males… though the males are ‘capable of serious aggression,’ they rarely fought and were not exceptionally territorial.”

OMG – that describes nearly all of my Gay clubs, organizations and friends!

  3. If all of the gay and bisexual people worked together as well as dolphins do then all LGBT people will get their equal and civil rights a lot faster.

You’re forgetting that Dolphins don’t have religion to contend with. Only unnatural humans have that.

So….what yer saying is we have more chance pulling at Seaworld than down Chariots on a week night? Sweeeeeeeeeet.

    1. Even at weekends in your case.

The best thing about animals is they have never been found to practise religion, thus proving that it is unnatural.

  7. I think they are polysexual rather than bisexual, from all the documentaries I’ve seen where they try to mate with human divers.

In which case it will be beastiality.

  8. “Let’ not forget that cannibalism is also prcticed amongst animals after mating.”

    LOL! What an idiot!

    Really? Which ones exactly?

Sexual cannibalism has really only been observed in arachnids, insects, and amphipods, with some evidence for its occurrence in gastropods and cephalopods.

Are you one of there Keith?

  9. It seems Flipper *does* indeed flip-flop ;)

  10. My impression is that this was known about a long time ago. Religious homophobes usually respond entertainingly to this stuff along the lines of –
1 – Homosexuality must be unnatural because animals don’t do it, and unmodified Nature is an indication of the Divine Will.
2 – Ah – they DO do it.Oh dear. But, hold on, the Fall of Adam and Eve must have been so potent that it ‘corrupted’ the whole Natural Order. In Eden they all walked around on leads and amusingly ran after sticks for the First Couple. That explains it. And God made the animals below us anyway, didn’t He? We mustn’t stoop to their dirty tricks.

  11. It makes it neither OK nor not OK. What is grossly offensive is suggesting a moral parallel between cannibalism and getting off on a consensual basis with someone of your own sex.

Ok which religion will condemn them first.. place your bets please…. Now!!

  13. Yes, it’s a well-known fact that dolphins are very sexual animals. It’s said that humans, chimpanzees and dolphins are the only animals known to practice sex for pleasure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they found out promiscuity is closely related to intelligence among animals.
