This country is so backwards, finally the Russians and Americans really do have something in common.

Although on the plus side for the US some states are trying to make things right for teh LGBT community!

A bill aimed at perpetuating ignorance that makes people think the young can catch homosexuality, and to suggest otherwise is propaganda. Well done Russia : nul points

    1. They needn’t worry, I don’t think dignity or reason are contagious.

I really can’t decide whether Russia was better as a Communist country or better now as a totalitarian gangster state now that we have Dmitry Medvedev. and the vile Vlad Putin alternating the top two jobs…… The place is a vile backward cesspit of thuggery and corruption. I agree with D. McCabe that the US and Russia are now two sides of the same counterfit corrupt coin.

Certainly the religious wing nuts have similar agendas in both places, but I don’t think you can seriously equate living in Russia with living in the US. One is a fascist state supported by a clique of billionaires and religious conservatives, and the other is…damn

The Russian mafia is also very prominent outside of the country. I have a Russian neighbour who echoes Paddyswurds that it is indeed a cesspit of thuggery and corruption. She was glad to leave and come to the UK and said she’d never go back not even for a visit.

This is yet proof enough why Russia will never be an EU member, not that Poland and those other baltic eastern states are any better. They should have all been banned from membership.

Russia is a member of the Council of Europe and subject to the ECHR, and this law would bring them trouble.

  5. One of those countries where many don’t feel comfortable with freedom, they are used to, and prefer someone to tell them what to do and think.
Communism, fascism, thuggism, plutocracy it doesn’t seem to matter as long as there is a big brother arrangement to act as a sort of comfort blanket.

  6. The “propaganda law” is really black propaganda (google black propagand) to make LGBT people look bad. The governments secret services like the KGB and CIA use black propaganda as a weapon of psychological warfare and operations to destroy their enemies with out firing a shot. The problem is they are turning their weapons on their own people, this is a sign that some mad men are in control.

    1. Except the American agencies have been directed by President Obama to assist in supporting human rights for gay people around the world, and that could include the CIA.

  10. Better yet, you f..k off over there. You’d never have to hear about homosexuals and we’d never have to hear from you as this site would be classed as propaganda. Win win. I’m sure we’d all be happy to pay your one way fare :D

But its not happening elsewhere. elsewhere is moving to more democracy.

Sorry, nice try, but no cigar poo face.

  13. All countries should make it offence to “promote” homosexuality, why should people be forced to accept homosexuals promoting what they are? You are homosexual, so just put up and shut up.

    Well done Russia 10 points.

    1. You’re not forced to accept anything unless, as in your case, you’re obsessed by the issue. Just put up and shut up. Oh please just shut up.

    2. By the same token why should good law-abiding homosexuals have to put up with hets “ramming” their sexualities down our throats day after day with their constant references to family life, weddings, their offspring, and their blatant disregard for decency by holding hands in public. Never mind how some of them dress. I wish they’d put up and shut up without flaunting their hetness in everybody’s faces.

Russia needs a law banning “promotion” of all sexuality. That ought to resolve all of their problems in 50 years or so, gay-hating issues or otherwise.

Mind you, with their falling birth rates they’ll just be North China by then anyway, law or not.
