Preppy American sports-casualwear retailer Abercrombie & Fitch have released a new promotional video directed by photographer Bruce Weber, which features male models wrestling and sharing a shower, before indulging in a kiss.
Never shy in using homoerotic imagery to promote their wares, A & F’s steamy new campaign appears to be taking its cue from late ’80s pop videos, depicting as it does a number of snake-hipped models shot in monochrome, wrestling each other to the ground and smooching – when they aren’t striking provocative poses.
Titled “Other Sports Require One Ball” – which may sound to British ears like a line from a Carry On film – the video is apparently one of four “Webersodes” to be found on Weber’s official website: www.bruceweber.com
