Off topic, but I’ve found myself drawn to reading all the “low-rated comments” of late. I find it reassuring that whereas even a year back such comments were from people who saw themselves as “slightly right of centre” they now seem to be the exclusive domain of the nutcases and crackjobs. I think this is good news because the homophobia and homobigotry is finally being seen as unacceptable. Albeit just on these PN boards.

Regretably every civil rights cause is liable to result in backlash as bigots dig their heels in – that’s the nature of the beast, they don’t like their world view challenged.
That doesn’t mean to say we should get back in our box, but between no rights and equality there’s always going to be a bumpy transition period.
