After the end of its week-long Football v Homophobia 2012 initiative, the Justin Campaign is giving away a pair of tickets to an Arsenal match next week for the most innovative idea for involvement by football clubs in 2013.

Tickets to the Arsenal v Newcastle match on Monday 12 March (kick-off 8pm) at Emirates Stadium.

18 clubs put a clear anti-homophobia message in their match day programme, several put information on their websites, screened the FvH logo around the ground and made a PA announcement telling fans how to report incidences of abuse and to get involved with the campaign.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Millwall also hosted members of the Justin Campaign at their grounds to discuss what can be done to combat homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the game.

At Arsenal’s first home game of February, which was also LGBT History month, against Blackburn Rovers, The Gunners also featured a rainbow flag around their pitch perimeter boards in a show of support for the LGBT community and FvH.

Wycombe Wanderers’ warmed up for a game in Football v Homophobia t-shirts.

Now the Justin Campaign, which is named for the late Justin Fashanu, the only professional British footballer to have ever come out as gay, is asking football fans to think up new ways for football clubs to be involved in next year’s Football v Homophobia week.

Send your idea, along with your name and phone number, to [email protected] to be in with a chance of winning the tickets.
