  1. I feel very sorry for them, it is horrid to be on the receiving end of abuse from a group of thugs. But it says that the thugs had local accents… How threatening can it be receiving verbal abuse in a yokel Hampshire accent?

Anyway I hope the police catch the little bastards, and then beat them firmly with hay bales or milk churns… or whatever they usually do in Hampshire.

  2. Really brave of them, a group bullying a young couple! I hope they catch them.

  3. Was there no CCTV cameras in or outside the shop?

    1. I’d be surprised if an exchnage shop did not have CCTV. But that does not necessarily mean the quality of recording or the angles were good enough to identify the people responsible …

    2. jamestoronto 29 Feb 2012, 6:26pm

Never mind CCTV – was there no staff at all in the store? Someone must have seen something.

  4. surely there is a CCTV camera somewhere near the shop that the couple could look at??

go them for having the courage to speak out and hurrah for having a police force (finally!) that actually take action and appeal for further information…..oh the times they are a changing!

    Quite a surprise for Basingstoke.
I always found it a rather pleasant town.

    1. Jamie Wareham 29 Feb 2012, 2:27pm

The idea that this is isolated is absurd. A Gay couple cannot walk from one side of the shopping centre to the toher without at least getting shouted at with homophobic comments. Basingstoke can be a very intimmidating town centre for young gay men especially

  6. This is just typical behaviour from a bunch of ignorant teenagers. I hope they’re punished severely.
The idea that this happens and no one is punished whtatsoever sickens me to the core. I really hope one day, that news like this is rare and not happening every second day of the week.

  7. Oy, he’s awake.

    1. It is not acceptable to push idiots. That is common assault.

A far more effective and legal method would be to politey explain from any school text book, why stupidity and ignorance are a tragic crime in everyone’s eyes and offer further help and advice regarding gross stupidity if required. Perhaps stating that ignorance is highly disproportionate in the ex-gay disorder community.

Lets feed him and hope he chokes

      1. Indeed…. I enjoy throwing poisoned meat to rabid dogs :)

  9. PN I really have had enough of this crap tell me why this idiot is allowed to post comments every day on every story. I don’t come here to be abused sort it out it’s unfair and unprofessional. If you can’t afford a moderator use disqus. It’s free and has filters for this can of foolishness. It’s 2012 FFS and as good as you comments boards are they are so 2006

    1. It does portray PN in a very bad light that they do not seem to take action. I know they are doing things behind the scenes but their public image is sverely diminished and undermined – which is exactly what Keith wants ….

      1. Spanner1960 29 Feb 2012, 6:40pm

Well if they will use crappy shareware back ends like WordPress, it’s hardly surprising.
You get what you pay for.

      1. Ban it today Ben

Religion is a crutch for the weak. It provides a moral compass for those who are lacking their own. Unfortunately it was written as a series of simple examples that could be understood by the simple people of the time, living simple lives. Over centuries they have blindly followed. Through mistranslation and changes in the meanings of words, the message has got corrupted. Simple lives have become more complex.

The simple people who do not have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, good or bad, missing their own moral compass are sadly too stupid to understand the nature, purpose and message they blindly follow. A moral code designed to safely steward the weak willed and stupid through life instead serves only to poison minds.

      1. “Religion is a crutch for the weak.”

        Couldn’t agree more.

If Keith is an example of what religion does to your mind, then I’m heading the opposite way. Keith is a throwback to an earlier evolutionary existence of hominid.

  10. If you are so worried about poo, use a condom when you are cottaging. Or just stick to blow jobs. And make sure you avoid lobster.

    1. In the park at 4am he can’t see the poo.

Besides, his christian counsellor told him he was straight now no matter what he does in the park….

      1. Robert in S. Kensington 29 Feb 2012, 3:22pm

Obviously, he’s had first hand experience to know his penis had “poo” on it after sticking it in, or someone stuck it in him. I’ve NEVER encountered that and not all gay people engage in it even though some straights do too. What is this obession about gay sex about anyway? Quite revealing isn’t it?

        1. He’s some drunk ex-gay that thinks he’s fooling everyone (and himself() by coming in here mouthing off like a child about his obsession with his anus.

    2. Robert in S. Kensington 29 Feb 2012, 3:19pm

Notice he doesn’t condemn heterosexuals, both married and single, who engage in anal sex (since the dawn of civilisation) or the straight inventors of adultery, polygamy and divorce, you know the ones who don’t threaten marriage but bleat about it’s sanctity while dumping one and going on to the next. Pathetic.

  11. F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off F–ck off

  12. I do wish either the editor or the publisher of PN would have the guts and bravery to make comment about Keith and the trolls and what action they are engaging in to deal with it.

Their lack of public comment makes them look weak or demonstrates a lack of value they place on the integrity of the comments on their website and could make one perceive that they do not care about their readers (although I believe they do genuinely care)

They should say publically that they do and not hide behind cowardly silence!

    1. “Then again, you are an individual of low character, having multiple pesonality disorder and being a deceitfl , lying lowlife human garbage” That doesn’t seem very Christian Keith. Judge not lest ye be judged or whatever they line is.

      1. OK. Whatever religion you claim to belong to. Seems like a rather pedantic reply. You claim on your other post to me about being morally clean, therefore I presumed you to be Christian. Is there any religion out there which clearly states it is ok for you to refer to another human being as garbage?

  13. so sorry to hear about this incident.

Pathetic creeps…. abuse has no place in our country today.

To these thugs, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits and crutches..and may their ball fester drop off and crush theit toes.

I hope I have made my point

  14. Staircase2 29 Feb 2012, 3:41pm

You really are a complete dickhead
and an ungodly one at that….

  15. Termination or Idolization 29 Feb 2012, 3:49pm

Come on Pink News. I’m pretty sure that this sort of nonsense deserves a bit of column inches. Where do people get themselves off with these bible references? More importantly why?

The last time I was quoted a section of the Bible to read that proved ‘God Hates Gays’, turned out to be the ‘man shall not lay down with man’ or words to that effect. This was the forerunner of the thing in sport where one shouldn’t spill thy seed before a match.

Mercifully George Best in his brief career as the finest footballer the world could ever have seen paid no attention to this. Didn’t he do the business with a Miss World at a half time interval?

As a news service I do hope that you have been in contact with the police to ascertain that they have acquired the CCTV. May as well move to 2012 rather than the history book the Bible. It’s full of great ideas as to how to live life but don’t forget most of the ‘articles’ never quote God as a reliable source. Nothing in the bible is attributed to God.

    1. Termination or Idolization 29 Feb 2012, 4:01pm

If you want to quote the Bible, stick to the basics which are the Ten Commandments. I believe this is one of the few pieces where God directly passed on his views to a reliable member of humanity. There is nothing in these Commandments, golden rules, where God hates queers.

This is just as well. I have a number of copies of his book around the house but don’t hang out in his worldly meeting places. Excellent philosophical works despite the fact they have been politicised over and over again and then misinterpreted by idiots.

  16. It is sad when people who are witness to a hate crime choose to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution by doing nothing to stop it or report it. The day will come perhaps when it might happen to them or some one they love and no one will do anything to help. When someone could help but were too afraid or did not want to draw attention to themselves. Thanks to the Christian religion and their campaign to bully gays this is the kind of world we live in. Who will be next?

  17. Some people seem to think it is their inherent right to bully or belittle others. Some people are fortunate enough despite the hurt of words to walk away, others are less fortunate! The bullies never comprehend the potential for tragic consequences. A sad aspect of humanity.

“What would you do?” a series of programs made to illustrate the prejudices of LGBT people is a good view and indicates the unwillingness of people to get involved, or the good and unlikely Samaritans who do!

This bullying video is only one of a good series

    1. A second example relative to today’s changing family dynamic.

  18. Don’t worry, everyone. Their both okay now. They’re both got tremendous courage and strength. I love them both.

  19. They’re both alright now. They’re both fantastically steadfast and brave. I should have been there to help. >.<
I think they've been caught, too

  20. Good to see justice being oursued. Congratulations to the couple and the police.

The local council can help here. Erect an antibullying billboard in thw Town Square or shopping centre, whichever gets the most traffic.

    1. Better Idea, erect a billboard on the busiest road in town with the culprits picture on it after they have been convicted with the banner headline “I’m a bully!” recognition and shame can work wonders for some peoples conscience!

  21. Oh, forgot to take the medication again have we Keith? I see we are still deliriously sleepy from the last bout of meds, hence the reason you can’t spell correctly. Do keep trying dearie, there’s a good lad….

  22. friday jones 29 Feb 2012, 10:29pm

Poo on the pen is how you got Hep A.

  23. Nutjobsareeverywhere 1 Mar 2012, 7:34am

CEX not have cameras then ? I’m sure they’d have CCTV if they were shoplifting!!

  24. Does the fact your comments are repeatedly deleted seem like PN are happy giving you a platform to air your views? I don’t think so. Yet you repeatedly come back over and over with ridiculous names when we all know it’s you due to the same garbage you spout. And yet you criticise others for using pseudonyms. If you have such an issue with thius then why not continue posting all your comments under the name you used before Keith?

    1. You have proof of this or are you now promoting something as fact without proof? Something you of course have criticised others of on here. And again, that your usernames are banned doesn’t give the impression your participation on these boards is welcome. But who are you kidding on as well. Fair enough, if your username Keith is blocked. Then why not put Keith1 or something similar. Why the need to use such ridiculous names if not to purely annoy and potentially cause offence?

      1. And who are you to judge who is or is not morally clean? Perhaps I’m just a bit naive but I could understand if your username was “Sodomy is sin” or something else directly attributable to the Bible. I might not agree with that point of view but I accept and respect that as the view of someone of faith. However I fail to see how it is Christian(or of any other faith) to come on here with things which you know full well will aggrivate people. But I suppose at the end of the day your God(whomever they may or may not be) will truly know your intent and what is in your heart so I see no need to carry on this discussion. You ultimately will have to answer to Him if that is what your beliefs are.

What ? This really isn’t right, we’re supposed to be moving forward. It also doesn’t show well for Basingstoke, there was another thing on the BBC website where a gay couple got abuse. Seriously guys? Hating people for loving someone??
