It’s true that homosexuality has never been criminalized in Turkey, yet it is appalling to hear a government representative affirm publicly in this day and age that homosexuality is a disease and an aberration of nature.
With that kind of rhetoric from the government, it is no wonder that homophobia is so deadly in Turkey.
