If this is legalised through the state legislature, it is a lot harder to repeal even by a ballot initiative. I doubt if this would stand a chance of being overturned. That’s why it is more important to use the legislature than the courts.

After all the stupidity of the Republican primaries, it’s good to see that there are still some Americans that believe in a fair and just society.
As liberal as my state is, I’ve been at a loss as to why we didn’t do this years ago.

Maryland is about to introduce a bill legalising same-sex marriage. Good luck anyway to Washington state, long overdue.
