Truly horrible. I’ll never understand how non-queer people can be so scared of LGBT people that they need to enact such laws. Kuwait has a long, long way to go in improving its human rights record and, as usual, women and LGBT people are at the bottom of the pile. However, as with Saudi Arabia, this rich oil state will not receive the international pressure that less strategically important states would so I hold out little hope for any improvement in the near future.
Did we not liberate them from Saddam Hussein in 1991? In future if Kuwaite want’s liberating then they should be prepared to uphold human rights. They have shown themselves to be no better than the country that occupied them.
