  1. That old story where straight guys are so in love with themselves, they think no gay guy could resist their charms…. or is it that they just project their own behaviour onto others, and believe everyone is a potential rapist?

    1. Fine him and give him a three match ban

      1. Fine him?

        Good idea.

        He plays for Oxford City.

I recommend 50% of his next paycheque is docked.

(Which means that he will get about 2 quid in his next payslip.)

      2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:00am

Ban him. He serve no purpose esp as a role model.

    2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 9:59am

Indeed. Very shallow but typical of some.

  2. Jason Brown 9 Jan 2012, 12:44pm

Lee Steele is the overpaid lowlife that makes coming out in football so difficult, his arsehole is the not the hole that should be padlocked.

    1. He plays for Oxford City.

He is not overpaid. I imagine he has a job fitting tiles and installing kitchens as well

      1. Sister Mary Clarence 9 Jan 2012, 4:42pm

He’s probably glad he didn’t jack it in now then. Could well come in handy

        1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:01am

Indeed. He should be in a job that doesn’t do harm to others.

      2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:00am

With those kind of remarks he is paid too much.

  3. I’ve just seen a pic of Lee Steele and I can’t imagine he’d be in any danger.. Ugly Munter.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:01am

      Quite!

  4. Helen Wilson 9 Jan 2012, 12:56pm

Why would a former Welsh international legend be interested in someone who is not fit to even wipe his arse? Lee Steele is only one step up from a Sunday league player he is and always will be a nobody.

Good to see the FA wiping both racism and homophobia out of football NOT!

  5. This homophobe should be ashamed of himself!

  6. Helen Wilson 9 Jan 2012, 1:07pm

He plays in the Evo-stick southern league *tries to keep a straight face* and looks like this: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/oxfordcityfc/s/players-coaches-1289.html?player_id=282872

*wonders if he has been sniffing too much Evo-stick*

  7. I’m a bit bored with the knee-jerk offence-taking. Is anyone surprised that a football player is somewhat “unreconstructed”? Yes, he should be told his behaviour is not appropriate, but I’m fed up with people being dragged over the coals for what amounts to mis-speaking, something we’ve all done I’m sure.

    1. you really should look up the meaning of “mis-speaking”.

      1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:03am

        Indeed!!

    2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:02am

Seriously? He has no place in football and shouldn’t be there. End of.

  8. Oh, and Lee Steele looks rather cute to me – better than Gareth Thomas. And (one other thing before I sod off!) Gareth is not exactly a big gay hero – he only came out because his wife threatened to out him if he didn’t.

    1. You need glasses :)

      1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:04am

Indeed, Specsavers clearly need a visit.

    2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:03am

Think that says more about you Clive than anybody else!!

  9. This Clive person sounds like he’s on the side of this homophobic prat Lee Steele. Sweetie, go lick the back of his sack. It sounds like that’s what you want to do.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:04am

      Indeed he does Darren.

  10. It’s not really mis-speaking though is it? Mis-speaking is when you say oner thing and mean another, usually on the spur of the moment.
This guy has seen some information about Gareth then actively decided to get his phone out, typed his reaction, created a tag and pressed send. He chose to do this, no-one forced him to and it’s not like he was caught out during a live interview.

Unfortunately no-one is surprised that these views are common. What is reassuring though is that he and others will take notice of this ‘knee jerk’ response and might think again. If we took your route of saying nothing and thinking it was ineveitable then we’re never going to get beyond this intolerance as those involved will feel as if they hold acceptable views.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:05am

      Good point, Nick!

  11. Padlocked? This implies that gay men are rapists and that if one made a pass at you then you wouldn’t be ale to say no. Utterly ridiculous and totally offensive.

    1. I wonder how many similar comments or worse Gareth Thomas sat there and said nothing about, button-lipped and closeted for the sake of his “career”?

      1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:06am

Irrelevent and pointless comment again clive.

    2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:05am

Yep and the reason he should never be allowed to be in the public eye.

  12. “This Clive person sounds like he’s on the side of this homophobic prat Lee Steele”

Wrong. I’m just a bit bored with the constant frothing outrage. He made a stupid, nasty joke. If it weren’t for Twitter, he’d probably have said it in the pub and none of us would have known it.

    1. Tia Maria 9 Jan 2012, 2:02pm

Then he should have made that remark in the pub with his mates and not on Twitter!!! I guess he ‘s just as thick as you are then.

      1. Nice – is this how you deal with any disagreement – call people thick?

        Grow up

        1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:08am

Erm a bit of projectionthere me thinks Clive.

      2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:07am

        Exactly!

    2. Then he’s also so stupid he does not realise what happens to your comments when you post them on the Internet. Not got a lot going for him this Mr. Steele has he?

      1. Exactly – so who cares what he thinks?

        1. Maybe some of his young fans care what he thinks. maybe they will take his homophobia as a guide to carry out their own homophobic attacks on their classmates. And we know how that can affect people.

          http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2011/03/30/schoolboy-15-jumped-to-his-death-after-rumours-he-was-gay/

Youmight have the luxury of being ‘bored’ when people berate homophobes. If it was you or your kid getting the grief this sort of casual remark legitimates I doubt you’d be so carefree.

        2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:09am

I do when it comes to vunerable people hearing such comments.

It’s our duty to protect. Lee Steele got what he deserved.

      2. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:08am

        Indeed not!

    3. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:07am

Well this just happens to be a Gay site for Gay people for Gay news so what do you expect, sympathy?

  13. “If we took your route of saying nothing ”

That wasn’t “my route” – read what I said.

    1. So, what would you say to him then? You accuse people of ‘dragging him over the coals’, but haven’t made clear your preferred course of action. You have suggested that it is a minor thing, a common error (‘something we’ve all done, I’m sure’) and should basically be swept under the carpet with a quiet word in the ear. Common as homophobia might be, for those at the receiving end it is anything but minor. The man sees himself as superior to gay people and needs to be told, bluntly, publicly and with as little grace as he demonstrated that he is a moron. Dragging over the coals is especially appropriate.

      1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:10am

Indeed, Nick. These people don’t have a clue.

  14. Why does Lee Steele want us to padlock him? Not everyday someone self-describes as an arsehole.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:11am

      Quite!! lol

  15. If he had left his comments at calling the housemates ‘a gang of losers’ then he would have been fine (a celebrity line-up where the most famous person is the actress who used to play Sonia on Eastender, is certainly not a gang of celebrities’

His comments about padlocking his a**e are clearly homophobic though. Was the fact that he missed the match related to his homophobic comments as that is not made clear in the article.

I really think Gareth Thomas has made a mistake by appearing in this joke of a show.

This show hasn’t helped ANYONE’s career even though it has been running for years.

I suppose Gareth Thomas simply needed the money.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:12am

I agree the show is nothing more than a joke but I guess Gareth had his reason. I doubt being Gay was one of them.

  16. Gareth Thomas whilst not a classical beauty is obviously way out of this guys league.

Why is it always the ugly people who say these things?

Quite frankly people who look like Mr Potato Head should be grateful for any sexual attention that comes their way.

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:12am

A good way of looking at it Joss!

  17. Mr. Ripley's Asscrack 9 Jan 2012, 2:57pm

That’s a brilliant hash-tag – I wish I could come up with something so brilliant and witty. Has Mr Steele been psychologically damaged in a past experience by overstating his unavailable hole perhaps? Ah poor him, I hope he realises that we aren’t sexual predators, just human beings who fancy other human beings. Equally, I hope he realises that tweeting such homophobic nonsense these days almost guarantees a pay packet to be lighter, perhaps even with a little visit from Inspector Knacker of the Yard!

  18. its always the ugly ones who think you want them

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:13am

      Indeed!

  19. Trish Kirby 9 Jan 2012, 5:30pm

I am afraid I have missed all this because as soon as I knew that Gareth Thomas had gone into the CBB house I unfollowed him on Twitter. No respect for anyone that stoops so low.
Agree about Steele. With a face like that he has no need to worry.

  20. Wow, really witty and original. Perhaps he could try script writing when his football career is over? A real find!!

  21. The ” backs against the wall” brigade is almost always made up of the mingers, the ones with the least to worry about, :-)

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:14am

Yep, me wonders if jealousy creeps in…

  22. funny how a bloke has been done for shouting racist remarks at a football match and this stupid wannabe footballer can get away with this.
shame on the FA, and his club

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:14am

Luckily he didn’t get away with it.

  23. Ok so let’s get this straight (pardon the pun). On seeing all the contestants entering the BB house the most prominent thought coming into this guy’s head is the idea of lying in a bed next to Gareth Thomas, and in the middle of the night, he imagines the Rugby player climbing into his bed and giving him a good seeing too…

    Mmmmm…

    1. Helen Wilson 10 Jan 2012, 6:41am

I guess he cant sit in the communal baths watching his team mates tackle anymore! All he has left is fantasising about Gareth Thomas in the hope of a few tackle shots.

      1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 10:15am

Indeed, he must get very worried but then what do you expect he clearly has a very low IQ.

  24. Nutjobsareeverywhere 10 Jan 2012, 12:29pm

Padlock at both end more suitable !!

  25. Well the good news is they’ve sacked him!!!

    1. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 9:48am

      indeed! Responsibilty at last.

  26. Jock S. Trap 16 Jan 2012, 9:48am

If these people expect to be paid big money to be professional and add the facty they are role models then this person should never play again.
