US gay campaigners hold Valentine’s marriage rallies
11:58 AM — Gay rights campaigners across the US held a series of Valentine's Day rallies and demonstrations yesterday to call for marriage equality. Gay couples in cities such as Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago requested marriage licences, while others staged civil disobedience actions.

4:30 PM — Stickers have been placed around London's East End, declaring it a "gay-free zone". The messages, posted on buildings and lampposts close to gay nightspots George & Dragon and the Joiner's Inn, say "Arise and warn. Gay free zone. Verily Allah is severe in punishment."

Dr Hans-Christian Raabe was fired from the advisory panel because he failed to mention controversial past work in interviews, the Home Office said earlier this month.
