  1. Ghana recieves substantial development aid from the UK. If we are so objectionable, then surely our tax money is similarly tainted.

    1. UK ‘development aid’ to Ghana is only a small percentage of profits UK companies make from cheap Ghana Cocoa & Ashanti gold, from which taxes are paid to UK government.Perhaps UK companies would like to withdraw from Ghana? Stop being one-sided ,arrogant & patronising.

      1. then also stop reading our papers, now sod off

      2. Robert in S. Kensington 28 Dec 2011, 1:52pm

Maybe we should issue an anti-islam statement and see how you like that. Nobody forces Ghana to accept aid, so why does it take it? It’s an independent country after all, albeit a backward one.

      3. Sister Mary Clarence 28 Dec 2011, 3:37pm

Well maybe Ghana should hike its prices up so as not to be ‘doing us a favour’.

Then as well as withdrawing our aid from propping up Ghana’s government, we can also take our cocoa and gold business elsewhere at the same time.

Ghana imported homophobia from white Western Europeans less than a century ago. It is homophobia than is un-African, not homosexuality.

        1. Nonsense. Where in the Traditional religion does it accept homosexuality???

In fact it is even more opposed to it.

          1. Errrr, I think you need to check out African history. Gay people were accepted, respected and in some cultures revered.

Homosexuality was still very much a part of African culture, including that of Islamasised African peoples and only changed when Western Europeans waded in.

            Says over inflated male egos.

Sorry but I prefer to have my own mind but then isn’t that the real problem?
            =
            Jealous much?

          3. Jock S. Trap 3 Jan 2012, 12:46pm

            Indeed Jose, Indeed!!

      4. Jock S. Trap 3 Jan 2012, 12:43pm

You choose to improve Human Right just as you choose to take Human Right saway from people. All decent citizens deserve respect and to be treated with dignity.

Grow up and smell the Fairtrade coffee!

    2. The money amounts to nothing overall… Cutting it would not change a thing. In fact countries in Asia get much more aid.

      1. wrong

most UK aid is to africa

        1. And it does not amount to much overall…. Not enough to change strongly held views. In reality cutting off aid will cause some to kick out investors and hand it to the rival Chinese then what???

          1. either way in 2011 Ghana was the fastest growing economy in the world I doubt they would care I can only see it maybe having effects in the very poor countries.

          2. Strange how the Ghanaian government seem to beg for UK aid …

US are also following our moral stance on aid, and other nations are considering adopting a similar stance on requiring nations who are recipients of aid to ensure certain standards of human rights – including LGBT rights …

    3. It would be nice if, for once, the first reaction wasn’t “WE MUST STOP GIVING THEM MONEY (IF WE DO)!”

  2. Is this his annual hatred speech?

    1. Yep,

Seems traditional in many religions at the time of goodwill to all men to have a pop at the common enemy, but hey – he’s a deluded fool so take no notice and continue the fight against ignorance and prejudice.

  3. Pathologically anti-gay Christianist filth.

    1. in a nutshell…yea..

    2. From an imam?

  4. Sister Goodlove 28 Dec 2011, 12:56pm

“,,,to meet the standard of moral behaviour exhibited by the Prophet Mohammed and by Jesus Christ.”

One was a psychopathic mass murdering paedophile, and the other was a workshy hippy who lived with 12 men and preached the virtues of poverty.

I’d say Ghana was right on track, wouldn’t you?

  5. Two religions brought together by mutual hatred

    1. I know what you mean… Christianity and Mohammedism cannot possibly unite on anything except hatred.

      1. this is supposed to be the 21st Century when is Religion going to be down graded to the accompany all other superstitions and LIES

    2. Isn’t it ironic that these religions are so pathogenic to each other but come together once they have found a group to commonly discriminate against? Religion all over! It would have died out long ago if their weren’t different social groups to discriminate and terrorize.

  6. tomchicago 28 Dec 2011, 2:23pm

“the elimination of homosexuality…” Gee, I thought American Republicans were the most blatant panderers. How dumb can you be? How dumb do you think we are?

  7. Homosexuality IS A SIN in Judaism,
Christianity & Islam. They should just ban together on this subject… for as they say: Strength in Numbers!!

    1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 2:47pm

The Abrahamic Religions are almost exactly the same!!! People need to get this in to their thick sculls!! IT’S ALL THE FU*KING SAME THING!!

      1. Dave North 28 Dec 2011, 4:24pm

        Yes. Sh!te..

  8. Paul Canada 28 Dec 2011, 2:57pm

My and my partner went on holiday for Christmas. We barely touched hands and Muslims, who happened to surround us, couldn’t help a prolonged stare of disgust. I’m glad, perhaps being exposed to another culture will help increase their tolerance of others. Maybe even it will fast forward the realisation that their prophet was a psychotic paedophilic bigamist – albeit, I will tolerate their right to believe for the short remaining duration of Islam’s existence upon this planet.

    1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 3:56pm

I think you’ll find that the Christians are FAR more vocal about homosexuality than Islam. With most of the homophobia coming from Africa! Rather than the middle east!! Educate yourself.

      1. Why don’t you go to the middle East and Africa and do that and see where you die faster.

        1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 5:02pm

          Sorry, do what??

    2. I suggest that you don’t go to countries like that then.

  9. Robert in S. Kensington 28 Dec 2011, 3:08pm

Notice how silent the other abrahamic cults are? i wonder why they don’t condemn islam for allowing polygamy, up to four wives at a time. That clearly debunks the myth that same-sex marriage will herald polygamy. Straights are doing very good job of it themselves in the middle east and elsehwere.

    1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 3:54pm

This article is NOT about the Muslim prophet or the religion or polygamy. In almost all Muslim countries polygamy has been banned for decades.

      1. Robert in S. Kensington 28 Dec 2011, 4:36pm

Where Sharia law is the norm, polygamy hasn’t been abolished.

      2. Robert in S. Kensington 28 Dec 2011, 4:42pm

Saudi Arabia, a major islamic country allows polygamy, as do Sudan, east and west African islamic countries and some in the far east.

      3. Polygamy is lawful in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, as it is in Malaysia; also Pakistan and, as far as I know, all the Gulf states. So I’m not sure where you get your statistic from.

  10. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 3:54pm

I find how all these comments slating Islam is just disgusting. As a Jew myself who has lived in several Arab countries, Kenya and Europe, this level of Islamophobia is just ridiculous; it’s fuelled by the media! This article is NOT about the Muslim prophet or the religion or polygamy. In almost all Muslim countries polygamy has been banned for decades.
Just take 2 minuets actually going through this website and you’ll find hundreds more examples of how the Christian leaders around the world, and not only in the undeveloped Africa, bashing homosexuality!!
    ALL religions are against homosexuality!

    1. Dave North 28 Dec 2011, 4:25pm

      ALL religions are dangerous sh!te.

    2. You have no idea what you are talking about. Islam deserves to get even more hassle than they are currently getting. It is an evil religion.

      1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 4:56pm

All religions spread evil! The older and the larger the religion the more evil it has spread. Christianity is older and larger than Islam. So shut it sonny-jim.

    3. ‘Buddhism’, though arguably more a philosophy than a religion, says nothing specifically against homosexuality (and is older than both Islam and Christianity).

    4. In fairness Moha, how many Islamic websites have a good word to say about gays?

  11. Islam hates gays probably more than any other religion. I don’t think they like alot of other people either. They don’t treat women well in general and only tolerate christians. They hate Jews full stop. While Christianity is sometimes a vocal critic of homosexuality, Islam is the worst. If you look at the figures for gay rights in muslims countries in general, compared to christian countries. You will see that the islamic countries are the worst!

    1. Moha Goldstein 28 Dec 2011, 4:59pm

I have lived among muslims all my life. I am a Jew! They don’t hate me. Most of my very good friends are Muslim. Stop generalising. They hate Zionists and as do I.

I don’t know where you’re getting all this information from! Wheres your proof??

      1. troll in sheeps clothing.

      2. Looking at the idiotic comments u are making, i strongly doubt you are a Jew. What kind of Jew hates zionists? I am afraid that if u are infact a Jew, u are in a minority with that view. I am a proud Jew and Zionist.as are nearly every other Jew i know. I am not generalising! I am speaking from experience and looking at different sources. How can u defend a religion which clearly has a more hatred of gays than any other mainstream religion.

If u look at gay rights of all the countries around the world, u will see that countries with a muslim majority have the worst gay rights records. NOT ONE SINGLE MUSLIM MAJORITY COUNTRY HAS ADEQUATE RIGHTS FOR ITS GAY CITIZENS That is according to amnesty international and basically anyone with a brain. ! Not one of them has same sex marriage, civil partnerships, IVF for lesbians, joint-adoption by LGBT couples, fostering by LGBT couples. The majority of them actually criminalize gay sex. Some with imprisonment and some put have capital punishment for it. Iran for instance has executed thousands of gay people for having sex!

I suggest u get you get your facts right before u speak!

      3. If you weren’t religious you wouldn’t need to hate zionist either. I am an atheist and I don’t even know what a zionist is. I would have a ballpark idea that it’s something imaginary and meaningless that believers have saddled a social group with. Religion kills. Free yourself from it’s cancerous burden.

      4. The proof? Are you living in fairyland-by-Saudi? Just look at the rate of nominally Christian countries (as many Christian countries – especially in Europe and Latin America – are very secular) vs nominally Muslim countries that DO NOT condemn homosexuality legally. You are a troll and you live in lululand if you think you cand find a more homophobic block than Islamic countries. At least Africa – for all its ills – has a South Africa to show off for some progressive legislation.

  12. So….how is it still living in the 1940s?

  13. Decade Decay -No one is born a HOMOSEXUAL No person has ever been born a homosexual. Yet thousands of people in our country believe they are different by design. They believe there is some natural alteration in their body chemistry that draws them to persons of the same sex, and they say they ought to have free and open homosexual relationships. But God’s Word says they are wrong. A homosexual becomes so through lust, or through the pressure of homosexual or bisexual friends or relatives, which leads to experimentation, which leads to demon infestation and control. It is not what God intended. Before the slogans of “gay rights” became so popular, homosexual acts were called “sodomy.” That term comes from the city of Sodom, which the Bible describes as one of the most wicked cities on the face of the earth.

STREET PREACHING, or Open Air Evangelism, is an often controversial yet valid and important form of evangelism. The Lord can use open air preaching in a powerful way, as Stephen fo

    1. Put a sock in it…

We’ve heard it all before, and it’s obvious you do not have a clue what you’re talking about because you reject modern scientific research.

    2. total claptrap

    3. Sexuality is genetic – faith is indoctrinated or acquired – so take your medieval superstitions and evolve! – you retarded twat…

    4. No one is born a HOMOSEXUAL … A homosexual becomes so through lust,

Just as a matter of interest, Jjo River, do you speak from personal experience here? Because I can assure you my own personal experience indicates otherwise.

      Interesting use of capitals, BTW.

    5. Nobody is born a Christian, Muslim or Jew or any other religion for that matter. It is either chosen by you e.g. born again or beaten into you by devout and pious parents and gardians. Religion is a cancer, Jesus isn’t real and Mohammed was a peadophile.

    6. Yeah Yeah Yeah

      Heard it all before . . .

      Yawn Yawn Yawn

  14. What a joke these people are. The proverbial martian would believe that the main problem facing the world is the possibility of gay people marrying. I wonder if they still believe that the sun orbits the earth/

  15. Another ‘holy’ alliance that will only last as long there’s a common enemy. Religion: the curse of mankind.

  16. Didn’t the Muslims send an anti Catholic and Christian message to Nigerian Christians and Catholics at their Christmas Mass when they blew up a lot of Christians and Catholics?
Maybe the Christians and Muslims will destroy each other and save the LGBT people time and money in getting them out of the way so we can get married and have Equal and Civil Rights.

  17. The National Chief Immam of Ghana issued a Christmas message this year which praised the efforts of Christians and members of other religions for their efforts to denounce homosexuality.

Yawn! Another African country, same old poo!

    1. There are some Africans (including some leaders) who do believe in fairness and equality …

Unfortunately their commentary is often strangled into silence by the rabid rhetoric of (often non-African) religious extremists …

  19. Meanwhile in Uganda…

    1. what the blinking flip does that have to do with the price of fish?

      1. To a polytheist or atheist it will not mean much not much but to a muslim it will mean a lot ! Its not only the christian westerners or Europeans who read this website ! As for “Fish” . . . Well . . . . not all of us are octupae !

  21. “Nothing optional—from homosexuality to adultery—is ever made punishable unless those who do the prohibiting (and exact the fierce punishments) have a repressed desire to participate. As Shakespeare put it in King Lear, the policeman who lashes the whore has a hot need to use her for the very offense for which he plies the lash.”
― Christopher Hitchens, God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything

    1. FranklyBewildered 29 Dec 2011, 7:21pm

But homosexuality ISN’T optional. We are what we are. All these religionists bang on about ‘lifestyle’ and gullible people believe it, but it is more than just a choice of soft furnishings in the home, and nobody chooses to be gay.

  22. burningworm 3 Jan 2012, 7:41am

The prophet wasn’t a pedo. This isn’t a game of tit for tat.

They are wrong. We are morally right. We can put our claws back in our bags.

We have the moral high ground, i suggest we take it.

  23. Jock S. Trap 3 Jan 2012, 12:41pm

Shameful act of betrayal to humanity. They are beneath contempt and deserve to be treated as such. Not all granted but those who degrade human life in such a manner.

I hope our government is seriously considering changing the way it hands out Aid this and other countries with similarly discriminating practises.
