Russian minister’s call for national version of St Petersburg’s anti-gay law was “only about paedophilia”

  1. Perhaps it’s a result of the confrontational approach of some people, in the face of such an ignorant and often brutal society.

It’s a great shame when you remember that this is the country of great national figures who were gay such as Tchaikovsky, Diagellev, Nijinkski and I’m sure many others. You would think their stories would help them empathise more.

  2. It seems to have disappeared now, but my earlier comment was in relation to the earlier article about it being an anti gay law.

  3. Communists made Russian people very nasty and intolerant to innocent gays…. I am not sure about background of D. Kozak, but he looks like a really nasty and disturbed animal…

  4. This is all a cynical campaign ploy by United Russia to win hate votes (fear/hate of minorities and “the West”) ahead of this weekend’s national elections.

This seems to be a smokescreen, the Russian hierachy do not support gay rights in Russia,, indeed supporting the hate groups that attack peaceful gay protests instead. Until human rights organisations and EU directly approach the stigma of governmental interference of minority groups, nothing will change.

The Communists made one big mistake like the Romans! The Romans didn’t have enough Lions to get rid of the early Christians and the Russian communists weren’t thorough enough when trying to cleanse itself of the Russian Orthodox Church. Two disappointing results in history.

  7. Is the promotion of pedophilia in public places such a huge problem in Russia that suddenly they need to enact a brand new federal law?

    Is it not already illegal?

  9. No wonder people are emigrating from Russia in unprecedented numbers.

Sounds like a truly vile country and a vile place to live.

No wonder the country is enduring an epidemic of national alcoholism.
