But I really wish some sort of context was put around them.
So 30% of adults need more information about HIV?
OK.
And how many adults need more information about prostate cancer or heart disease etc.
Is the lack of knowledge around HIV comparatively more or compaatively less than other conditions and illnesses?
You make a valid point David – I don’t think any reasonable person would deny that knowledge of all these issues is vital for all – but HIV carries a stigma that may make people steer away from knowing. Like your other point on pregnancy – the fear is relative to the individual – society judging as well and negatively just compounds the dilemma.
What I hate about this PN blanket coverage, is that these diseases are all GAY PEOPLES FAULT.

I agree. I recently had to apply for house insurance and it had the usual multiple choice questions: Single, married, divorced, separated, civil partnership. Ticking the last one you might as well have just written “faggot.”

OK that may be a valid point but the hole purpose of World AIDS day is to focus on HIV and AIDS. Without it we would be in a worse mess.
Also the answer to your last point is because maybe unlike those illnesses you mention HIV is transmittable.
