  1. I know that because it’s World Aids Day that all these statistics and stories are appearing.

But I really wish some sort of context was put around them.

So 30% of adults need more information about HIV?

    OK.

And how many adults need more information about prostate cancer or heart disease etc.

Is the lack of knowledge around HIV comparatively more or compaatively less than other conditions and illnesses?

    1. You make a valid point David – I don’t think any reasonable person would deny that knowledge of all these issues is vital for all – but HIV carries a stigma that may make people steer away from knowing. Like your other point on pregnancy – the fear is relative to the individual – society judging as well and negatively just compounds the dilemma.

What I hate about this PN blanket coverage, is that these diseases are all GAY PEOPLES FAULT.

      Every story is HIV.

The Christian groups are picking up on it and adding it to there complaints against Gay Marriage. ( Not CP )

The Scottish KIRK has just told the Scottish Parliament to F off with regards to Gay Marriage.

This infatuation with disease is only feeding the bigots.

More people die of Heart Disease / Alcoholism and Cancer for F sake.

And to add to that, being in a CP, I am quite sick of it as it does not equate LEGALLY to a marriage as I have encountered many circumstances whereby we are not treated as such.

I agree. I recently had to apply for house insurance and it had the usual multiple choice questions: Single, married, divorced, separated, civil partnership. Ticking the last one you might as well have just written “faggot.”
Had it been “married”, nobody would have been any the wiser.

OK that may be a valid point but the hole purpose of World AIDS day is to focus on HIV and AIDS. Without it we would be in a worse mess.

Also the answer to your last point is because maybe unlike those illnesses you mention HIV is transmittable.

  2. Knowledge and information on HIV & all other STIs can be obtained anonymously and confidentially by calling THTDirect the only specific HIV and Sexual health helpline – a national and free call service for anyone concerned about these issues – Websites are all very well and very informative but asking direct questions relating to a personal experience or concern, is best done by speaking to another human being who is trained in all information on sexual health and who is non judgmental and will answer in terms we all understand.

Actions need to be taken on the continued revelations about racism and bigotry because that is what is tearing up this society along with sex crimes and sex abuse, and misuse. it is good to enlighten others about sexual transmitted deseases and we all no to well the health department said that there is not enough medicene for cures, and for all the people, The hetersexual community is the main community that do no wear condums, and that explains all the hiv in hetesexual women, gay people are not messing with them , they are infectiing their own hetesexual race of people , and they cant lie out of that, just like africa, all those women and children hiv positive, it did not come from the gay africans , just hetersexual men, there, now ask them to answer in reprimands to them selves, and defamators, and media should reflect the accuracy of who is causing the hiv in each gender stop trying to make it look like its jn the gay community, when we no that most of it is in the hetersexuals

The nations had better put its focus on getting rid of the bigots in the political arena, period, these hate groups in the republican party and in any party, they must stop the abuses of all bigots, the bad bachman woman still harrassing gay children telling them today about their marriages, that none of her business she do well to keep up with what her hetersexual husband is doind, behind her back, and the mess in that clinic, she will not make a good president or anything , she simply do not care about people minorites as well as she mentioned in ealier statements , our nations need to remove her and sally kern, what an evil grandmother, wicked people who all children and women should love because of a kind demeanor, instead of evil , evil, gay people are by far the best families that are humane and safer, in the world and its in your face, the truth about the violence and terrorism of the hetersexuals, their bothering the gay people and have self destructed their own hetero famiiy

  5. carrie baker 1 Dec 2011, 10:49pm

Right now you cannot even trust them, children , wives and strangers comming in contact with hetersexual families have been abused assaulted , raped or murdered , in millions of cases, people who are just out trying to find nice friends and or mates, their murded and raped by hetersexual people , families chidren murdered and rapped by heterosexual children fathers, and some women lead them to the monsters, the wives beaten and murdered by them in every country almost, this is the real profile and resume of hetersexual , murder , rape , bigotry , sex crimes, and all others , they out number the gay incidents one to a million, the million bad in hetero, to 99%good in the gay community,

This is getting boring now Tod!

  7. Waiting for the histrionic and ever so clever rant of Samuel B…..

Any moment now. Wait for it. It’ll be worth the wait, maybe something about burning people with HIV as a lesson to school children.

    1. No need we can just give them an armband with a positive sign, tattoo numbers into their forearm (be careful not to prick your fingers on the tattoo needle Samuel) and send them to a special Stigma camp.

The name of the organisation that finds them out can be The SS (Stigma Specialists).

      1. LOL @ Joss.

        1. We shouldn’t mock the afflicted guys :-)

  8. Jock S. Trap 18 Dec 2011, 8:19am

And whats the betting it’s these adults that also stop their children being educated on the facts of HIV too?
