  1. Most of the rugby players ive ever met (even the hooray henry variety) are perfectly happy in their own sexuality and dont have the ingrained bias that seems to be so prevalent in football. There are exceptions of course- but as a whole the culture of rugby isnt afraid of being seen as less masculine due to a connection with gayness. They also like taking their clothes off a lot as well which is a handy bonus!

    1. I agree with you on the difference in attitudes, but there are still very few rugby players who will come out publicly which still points to some form of institutionalised or pervading culture of don’t ask don’t tell within rugby.

  3. Pubilicty I am not a great support of the EJAF, the published accounts speak for themselves http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/FinancialHistory.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1017336&SubsidiaryNumber=0 , I sumit that the Food chain has to do more given the funding it receives, refer the Food Chain http://myemail.constantcontact.com/Mark-World-AIDS-Day-with-The-Food-Chain.html?soid=1101612703443&aid=ih49u_3-DZc in which I seek clarity when the application was made that a donation of £1m was received from the EJAF http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2011/01/18/hiv-charity-food-chain-wins-1m-boost-from-elton-john-aids-foundation/

Charities like the EJAF and THT are extremely bloated and spend most of their income on staff salaries, jollies and fundraising initiatives and only a fraction of their income on actual HIV services and prevention programs (check out THT’s 2011 Trustees Report and year end accounts at http://www.tht.org.uk – it makes for eye-boggling reading).

It is always a pity to see well-meaning people like Sacha Harding stripping off or whatever for what are ostensibly worthy causes, but they should do their research first and perhaps lend their support to those struggling HIV organisations that are still run like honest-to-goodness grassroots charities that produce equitable results as opposed to vast money-spinning corporations.
