  1. I think it’s great that she would do a message like this, it only took a minute out of her time but it could make such a huge difference to someone (hopefully everyone) in that school.

If only more people in her position would speak out the way she does.

This event received extensive coverage in the news media here. It was heart-warming to see and hear the reactions of the students. Say what you will about her music or performances, no one can call Lady Gaga out on her commitment — which is 100%

Nicely done Gaga and Jacques St-Pierre !!!

  4. I’m still not particularly a fan of her music, but her energy and her commitment to the cause are commendable. She is not the first to play the “fame game” and she won’t be the last, but she is very very good at it and if she can divert some attention to an important issue, then more power to her.

  6. It isn’t just that she speaks out. Responding with a video message to a high school student shows that she is personally engaged. She has been speaking out, and often, for some time. You know this is an issue she cares about.

  7. RE the newsround comment, I totally agree!

There is someone who maintains a blog about the total Bias in newsround, in that they NEVER cover LGBT issues. Ever.

Shocking and disgraceful, I keep it in my favorites, because more than anything it reminds me that the media tells you to think in certain ways and it can never truly be trusted.
