I think it’s great that she would do a message like this, it only took a minute out of her time but it could make such a huge difference to someone (hopefully everyone) in that school.
If only more people in her position would speak out the way she does.
Well done Gaga.
This event received extensive coverage in the news media here. It was heart-warming to see and hear the reactions of the students. Say what you will about her music or performances, no one can call Lady Gaga out on her commitment — which is 100%
Nicely done Gaga and Jacques St-Pierre !!!
I’m still not particularly a fan of her music, but her energy and her commitment to the cause are commendable. She is not the first to play the “fame game” and she won’t be the last, but she is very very good at it and if she can divert some attention to an important issue, then more power to her.
Somehow can’t see this story being reported by Newsround
It isn’t just that she speaks out. Responding with a video message to a high school student shows that she is personally engaged. She has been speaking out, and often, for some time. You know this is an issue she cares about.
RE the newsround comment, I totally agree!
There is someone who maintains a blog about the total Bias in newsround, in that they NEVER cover LGBT issues. Ever.
Shocking and disgraceful, I keep it in my favorites, because more than anything it reminds me that the media tells you to think in certain ways and it can never truly be trusted.
Thanks Mithos – it’s my blog :)
Amazingly there is an item about this story – but only on Newsround’s website. I’ll write a blog entry when I’ve go a few minutes to spare
Yay GaGa ^^
Great ahe can take the time and effort to send such a supportive message.
What an intelligent, informed and caring soul. I admire her immensely. I think it is fantastic to see a superstar using her fame to do good things for the world. Long live Gaga!!!!
I’m so please Lady Gaga make such a stand in all to make a difference.
Good for Gaga!!
