I’m sure this is true. I lived in St Lucia, where ‘homosexuality’ is illegal and gay men are therefore scared to present for treatment at an HIV clinic.

If, as the article states, 14% of all HIV infection is among gay or bi males then simple math tells us that 86% of HIV patients are straight. That’s the number that the good bishop should be launching his tirade against.

Actually, this idiot is completely wrong. If one were to pick a million gay people and a million straight people from anywhere on earth and randomly, then the count of those who would be HIV+ would be preponderantly much higher in the straight sample of people than in the gay sample. Worldwide Aids/HIV is a disease of the straight community – especially in Africa and also almost everywhere else except the North Americas and some European countries. In the N. Americas and Europe the rates of infection are much higher amongst heterosexuals than amongst gay people so even in those place it will not be long before the position, vis-a-vis numbers in each community infected, is reversed and the heterosexual becomes higher and then stratospheric unless heteros change their habit of unprotected sexual activity.

Of course he’s wrong – its Keith :) Keith is ex-gay, so no surprise there! He’s desperate to cling to this house-of-cards dogma. And from some of his posts not only is he a complete idiot, he’s clearly an alcoholic (something to dull the pain of thinking about anal sex as much as he does, I suppose)

Ignore him and report. His stupidity will be deleted and consigned to the bin where it should go.

    Of course they’re related.

If young gay/bisexual men are being regularly discriminated against and attacked for their sexual orientation then naturally they will be less confident of going to a sexual health clinic or seeking help.

Many countries need to advance into the 21st century and accept that homosexuality is very much alive and not likely to disappear with snide comments and willing blindness.
