  2. We should definitely ask cloistered crusty old men about sex and sexuality, they certainly have an insight…. In the real world, he is assuming that women always have a choice, and his odious church is interfering in the spread of full, frank and comprehensive education and information that will save lives. Frankly, he should take his pointy hat and Prada shoes and go back to his golden throne in the Vatican because his “teachings” are of no use in the world the rest of us are living in.

His odious teachings are deluded, wrong and DANGEROUS. He should go back to the vatican and STFU.

Notice too that people who don’t follow his sexual taboos are by clear inference ‘less human’. How he must regret the passing of the Crusades and the burning of heretics.

  10. “…sex education that is itself grounded in an anthropology anchored in the natural law and enlightened by the word of God and the Church’s teaching.”

When we look at the facts, it is now common knowledge that homosexuality and same sex pair bonding is ‘anchored in natural law’.

Same sex activity has been scientifically observed for over a century in the entire spectrum of the animal world, proving that sex has many purposes, only one of which is procreation.

The Vatican’s pre-occupation to stem the spread of AIDS would be a wee bit more convincing if the RCC invested its wealth into scientific research, rather than disgraceful and gaudy golden garments and other meaningless religious paraphernalia.

    1. If the Vatican and the Pope were genuinely interested in promoting a healthy life then they would not have such ridiculous and unjustifiable proclamations that demonise the use of condoms and frankly use rhetoric to frighten people into not using condoms thus cause an increased risk in transmission of HIV

Umm he looks about as far from “natural” as it’s possible to get, and the things he is trying to say are unatural are in fact natural. living in houses isn’t natural, making roads isn’t natural, flying in planes isn’t natural, homosexuality is natural, and commonly found in the animal world. whar rigorous academic work exactly are his statements based on?

    Post a reply →
  13. Sex education? Is he for real. Not even catholic schools allow sex education let alone state schools.

Exactly what does this living fossil of a moron know about ethics after a 2 millenia old ongoing tradition of misogyny, paedophilia, pederasty and other abnormal aberrations. What does he know about relationships exactly? Who is he to pass moral judgement on others and on societies. The Roman cult is morally bankrupt and irrelevant as is it’s little sister cult, the C of E.

    1. Again the catholicchurch reduces the very healthy and normal need for human sexuality and intimacy to something bestial, dirty and shameful. I read this and think the real infection is the catholic church itself Humanity is the cure. At least we have options here and can ignore such silly behaviour. My heart goes out to all of those who are dying unecessarily because this church chooses to maintain an outworn way of being in the world. Now that is something to be ashamed of.

If he wants to talk about ethics he should talk about how bankers and usury are destroying the world. Not gay people. Oh I forgot, he owns a very wealthy bank. Does it do usury?

In theory usury is condemned by the Roman Catholic Church, however due to the actions of some rather unsavoury characters and the general ignorance of prelates it thrives within Roman Catholicism.

So yes the Vatican Bank does.

All he is, is a bitter old man whos only role in life is to complain that people dont do what he wants.

We’re the only species, I think, with a very unnatural sex-life. All the other animals have sex without being married in church. So what’s this ‘natural law’?

    Post a reply →
  21. This old man is crazy – period.

    Post a reply →
  22. By natural law, one presumes the Pope means what is found in nature. In that case he is wrong about abstinence, fidelity and rejection of promiscuity being natural. Just the opposite. Also, the Pope needs to realize that the Catholic Church no longer runs the world.

As the head of the Catholic Church it is interesting to hear what he has to say in relation to sexual health. If the pope decrees something it will be done. I can’t help but read between the lines and feel saddened by the fact that more people personally will find themselves at fault and not that their pontiff.

He needs to get his house into order. Sell off clusters of land strip himself of the pomp.

I came across this through a friends Facebook link.
First of all the insults most of through around, you’d be shouting discrimination if anyone said the same type things.
Second. It shows that you don’t havr the ability to have a rational debate, so my sugestion would be to stay off the internet.
Thirdly, What are you actual reasons for disliking the catholic Church? Someone said ‘we are sexual beings’. I suppose that give you the right to behave like dogs. As for me I try and keep my brains in my head not in my pants.
Condoms have been around for years and that hasn’t stopped aids so perhaps the Pope is right. Obviously you don’t have any answers, perhaps you don’t even care.
