I find this quite shocking! I live in Holland and came out as bi in Feb this year. I now live with my lesbian gf and have never had problems with people knowing.
I know that there are certain places in Holland that are Christian villages, and I know that if I lived there then they would be turning their noses up at me, but I haven’t had problems so far.
