Graham Norton says he is too old to have a child.

The entertainer, who is 48, revealed that he does have a partner but refused to say more about the man, joking that he might soon be single again.

He told Woman’s Own magazine: “Part of me would like to have kids but I’m 48 now and have left it a bit late.

“I think you want to bring up your child with someone. There are lots of great single parents out there but I’m lazier than they are so I’d quite like to share the responsibility.”

He added: “I’m not single at the moment but I don’t want to say more because, who knows? I might be single by the time this comes out!”

The chatshow host took over Jonathan Ross’ BBC1 primetime slot a year ago and a new series begins this week.
