Right – so when we are told we are dirty or disgusting or not fit to be around children (which is what can be inferred from the “this is a family airline” statement by the stewardess) we should sit in cowed silence and accept it rather than stand up for ourselves. To the back of the bus, everyone. Of course, if Southwest wants us to believe that they kick EVERY customer who EVER swore off one of their flights then they truly are delusional – I would imagine one bit of turbulence would lead to half the flight being in violation of these conduct rules that they don’t see fit to tell anyone about….

Exactly, life would be so much better if he did. No more lying to oneself and no more misery for us.

Southwest is now completely changing their story now that they realize that their first announcement, that other customers were complaining about their kiss, seems to not be going down so well.

Doesn’t ring true to me. This excuse smells bad. Me thinks there’s a reason for the arguement and the Airlines created the problem which could have quite easily been defused had people done the decent thing by minding their own bloomin business.

So someone was kissing someone else that just happened to be of the same sex… whoopie-do – Get over it!

If Americans can be kicked off planes for swearing, the planes will all be empty before long.

It doesn’t chime well with the levels of freedom of speech that they claim to have.

This whole saga has been dealt with OUTRAGEOUSLY by Southwest Airlines.

…Talk about digging themselves into an even deeper hole!

This is what happens when a company is based in a country which effectively sanctions homophobia – they’re now trying to wriggle out of it.

I feel a LGBT boycott coming on!

Lets hope they go down the pan very soon! (Which I’m sure they will!)

(Who’s taking bets on how long it will be before they offer a huge out of court settlement and enormous amounts of touchy-feely ‘apologies’ for ‘distress caused’)

    COMPLETE TWATS!

  6. Southwest are lying homophobes.

First they claim that the couple were kissing ‘excesssively’

Now they claim the couple swore.

Well if some bigot flight attendant claims that lesbian women are not ‘family friendly’ then the flight attendant should be fired, and the lesbian couple showed remarkable restraint by merely swearing at her.

  7. Yes, because that sounds so much better, doesn’t it? “Nothing to do with the same sex kiss, see – just about swearing”. How convenient…

  8. If Southwest had just come forward and said that the stewardess was wrong in what she did they could have saved themselves a lot of hassle, they literally did not need to drag themselves into this, they could’ve passed it off as bad judgement, now they’re gonna have a lot more than just an apology and a refund to two angry passengers to deal with.

Hey southwest, make up your mind, wait I will do it for you. YOU Lie, lie, lie.
If people are kicked off airlines for swearing, OK, make it a blanket policy, for EVEYONE. NO? I DIDN’T THINK SO.
We of the lesbian/gay community are wise to bigots, now you bring your bigotry
    too, too far. Shameful.

I think if I was heterosexual I wouldn’t fly southwest air now – you might just get kicked off for all kinds of silly small things. think about how creepy this would be stuck in the middle of nowhere, hicksville USA. frightning – just because they only want mousy passengers.

    1. They have kicked a guy off for wearing baggy slouchy pants (after telling him to pull them up) and a woman for having a short skirt and a top that revealed a bit of cleavage. So apparently you have to dress like a 17th century pilgrim to fly Southwest. Oh, and they are also the airline with the pilot who left his radio open, blocked air traffic control, and broadcast an expletive filled and homophobic rant to the controllers. Lovely people.

Wonder what would have happened if we had taken our six grandchildren and great grandchild with us, and we had kissed en-route, as we always do.

  12. Hmmm an angry, foul-mouthed, z-list ce-lez-brity. That sounds about right. I bet she said “Don’t you know who I am?” to which the flight attendant was like, “Uh-huh-Nuh!”

      1. Really well thanks. It’s not hatred at all – she just seems like a sour-faced b***h to me so I’m not surprised that she was kicked off for swearing. DIVA complex.

  13. Alisha hayes and her partner , should sue the airlines, that attacked them for what almost every passanger does on the plane and off the plane, is they insane, you dont put a passenger off an airplane for that nor kissing, what you should do in the proper way is to put things in the proper context and tell any passenger if you hear cursing out loud on the plane to keep that to themselves because it may offend other passengers and to not be elicite with more than a pep kiss or a hug on a public plan , get a room, but say it in a nice way, you could be simple and just post a large neon sign in the front of each passenger sections or on a incoming tv as a bulletin in front of each passenger section, right be

If it was due to them swearing then the airline was right to bump them off the plane. Air rage is not a pleasant thing and can endanger aircraft. I once knew a lesbian couple who kept having bust-ups. If Steve Regrave and James Cracknell could row for England that couple I knew could row for England!

    Post a reply →
    1. Apparently the swearing only occuirred after the bigot flight attendant told them to stop their modest kiss because SWA is a ‘family airline’.

I think that the said bigotted flight attendant is very lucky only to have been swoen at.

I think that this flight attendant sounds completely unsuitable for her job.

I mean how STUPID does she have to be be to think that her words were appropriate.

Hang on people, the air rage comment above is fair.

“The singer and actress has tweeted that she has a recording of the incident but this has not been made public.”

Why? Because it backs up the suggestion that she became verbally aggressive with the staff? If it supports her story and she has the recording, she should be sharing it, no?

    Post a reply →
    1. Air rage is indeed a bad thing.

However if the air rage is provoked by the bigotry and stupidity of the flight attendant, the problem lies with the flight attendant and she is the one who should have been removed from the flight and instantly sacked.

If the flight attendant told them that their lesbianism was not ‘family friendly’ then I think the couple’s response was remarkably restrained.

  16. It’s probably what she said back to them when they were asked to stop kissing.

  17. I bet if a straight couple was making out no-one would have complained. And it’s bad enough when you gotta put up with people getting it on infron of you at the bus stop (doesn’t matter straight or not).

    Stupid airline.

  18. What on earth is a “family airline” anyway? It would be good to know, so that I can avoid them in future. (Every airline I’ve ever flown with appears to have been one, judging by the bawling children.)
