Gaydar fraudster jailed for four years 21
4:59 PM — A man who trawled Gaydar to find victims to steal from has been jailed for four years and three months. Mark Andrew Bishop, 37, of no fixed abode, stole £300,000 from one of his nine known victims, although police say he may have targeted many more men.
US census shows 131,297 gay marriages 7
4:12 PM — The US census shows that there are 131,297 gay married households and 514,735 unmarried gay households. Marriage equality campaigners said the figures show the need for gay couples to be given the right to wed.

2:01 PM — Southwest Airlines says that former L Word actress Leisha Hailey and her girlfriend were escorted off a flight for swearing, rather than kissing. The star and her girlfriend Camila Grey were on a Baltimore to St Louis flight on Sunday.

1:35 PM — US vice-president Joe Biden has criticised the booing of a gay soldier at a Republican presidential debate. Mr Biden, whose son served in Iraq, said the booing was "reprehensible".

1:16 PM — A jury in Lincolnshire is considering the case of a teenager accused of killing a gay man. Aiden Jackson, 18, denies murder but admits manslaughter and claims he attacked 67-year-old David Cowley because he was "disgusted" by the older man's sexual advances.

11:37 AM — A transgender woman has revealed how her desperation for sex reassignment surgery led her to try and cut off her genitals. Kirsty Cass, of Crawley, West Sussex, says she almost bled to death after using a Stanley knife to partially sever her penis.

10:22 AM — Openly gay Irish senator David Norris has secured enough nominations to stand for president. The independent politician won the support of Dublin city council last night and will run against six other candidates next month.
