In response to these attacks a vigil and march will happen tonight in Salt Lake City. One of the victims, Dane Hall, will speak: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=205045246224926

  2. Not a day goes by when we don’t hear of violence or abuse against LGBT people in America. It’s shocking and worrying that a country deemed to be a progressive superpower can be so hostile and intolerant to our community.

    1. America is neither progressive, nor a superpower. It is a giant, bloated bag of wind. Populated for the most part with ignorant, bible-thumping simpletons. It’s children are brainwashed from day one into believing that it is the biggest, brightest, best, land of the free, in the world….and that EVERYONE else is inferior and has a lesser quality lifestyle. As a “former” American, it truly turns my stomach.

      1. Many of today’s parents would have been Dick Hafer fans back in 1986, and they passed on the hatred:

        1. I though it said Dick Hater LOL

      2. sad but oh so true

I doubt all that. Most Americans are raised wanting to visit Europe, land of the ancesters, and…European tourists sure come piling into the U.S. every year.

          ancestors

Too many African-Americans here. Most of the time it’s them bashing. Sorry, that’s not p.c., and not what you guys like to fantasize, but..

  3. Aren’t Mormons supposed to be so ‘nice’ ?

    1. false advertising

What do Mormons (as silly as they are) have to do with any of those alleged bashings? All kinds of people live throughout Utah. If someone was bashed in NYC would you automatically blame Jews just because they’re one major ethnicity? You guys have to learn to deal with facts and not just wishful-thinking.

“The study of 939 LGBT Utahans found that 67 per cent of transgender and 44 per cent of lesbian, gay and bisexual Utahans say they have either been sacked or have been denied a job or promotion as a result of their LGBT status.”

And therefore the focus of LGBT groups in Utah will be for approval of same sex marriage of course! :p

  5. These are crimes against Humanity and the government needs to step up to protect the gay people the same as the straight and if they don’t then no justice no peace.

  6. Where is ANONYMOUS to protest this gay abuse and violence? The truth is ANONYMOUS are really mostly Christians who what to stop gays and gay marriage. Think about it most American are Christians and so that means most of ANONYMOUS are Christians. They have been fooling people or they think they have been fooling people. They are really the new kkk Christians who hid behind mask so no one can see that they are Christians.

    1. Fake Christians.

    2. Unless you know something I don’t, I don’t see any reason to believe that ANONYMOUS are Christians let alone that they have taken sides on gay issues in fact didn’t they shut down Westboro Baptist Churches hateful website.

It strikes me that LGBTQI people can be the least hateful but suffer from the most hateful in society. It doesn’t make sense.
    -
Shameful attacks from nothing but cowards.
    -
Lets hope the criminals are found and brought to justice.

  8. Maybe Pink News would like to ask Orson Scott Card’s opinion about this. And I would advise everyone dump his trashy novels in the nearest sewer where they belong. His rants about gays and what should be done with us are even more evil than the evangelical right.

  9. it seems like spreading HIV and all that should have a price attached.

  10. Thankyou for reporting on this. I have lived in Utah on and off for a decade, but am not LDS. I feel that Utah has a tendency to sweep this issue, among others, under the rug, and it is so refreshing to find social media doing its job, and informing the world of these discrepencies that some Utahans (Or Utards as they are sometimes called in the states) wishes would stay under wraps. Again, Thankyou!

My opinion only : I don’t know about the other two cases, but the Dane Hall case is b.s. He has a criminal history including drug charges and lying to the police. He was involved in a drug deal gone wrong and claimed it was a homophobic attack.

http://www.lookwhogotbusted.com/salt-lake-city-ut/leon-dane-hall And to think Utah gay activists are so stupid that, without any other evidence at ALL, they’re just taking the word of this character. AND then pretending the Mormon church is behind it.
