A 19-year-old man has been jailed for five years for car-jacking a man at a gay cruising spot.

Lewis Harding, of Kingshurst, West Midlands, was arrested when he was seen driving the vehicle the following day, the Birmingham Post reports.

Leamington Crown Court heard he approached his 45-year-old victim at a layby on the A45 towards Coventry to ask if he wanted “any fun”.

Harding asked him to remove his trousers and underwear, which the victim did. Then, the younger man and another man got into the car and dragged the victim out of the vehicle, leaving half-naked him at the side of the road.

The victim, who still had his mobile phone, called police and Harding was arrested the next day.

Harding, who has previous convictions for grievous bodily harm and theft, denied the robbery but was convicted by a jury’s majority verdict.
