    1. I didn’t read a single word of your comment Carrie.

People who use the capslock on their comments need to learn to stop doimg so.

it makes you seem deranged and illiterate (although maybe that’s because your grammar and vocabulary are so awful).

are you on drugs? or should you be on drugs?

  2. This is not news.

Google – a commercial company is doing this for PR purposes.

Their aim is to increase visitors to their website and increase their profits.

On what planet is this non-story considerered ‘news’?

    1. SteveC Google is VERY gay friendly and even reimburses their gay workers for undemocratic taxes in America that make them earn less than their straight counterparts.
Google does this solely to compensate their gay workers for being out of pocket just because they aren’t straight.

Their aim is obviously to attract more visitors as the aim of every business is to get more visitors/customers you dimwit.
They don’t deny that and they have always celebrated famous birthdays this way, it pretty much always makes the news.

I will never understand how some gay people can be so bitchy and complain so much…

    I love it :-)

  4. Old news, this was news at 8am, you really must get up ealier pink news!

  5. Freddie was not gay, he was bisexual – he had male and female lovers throughout his life. If you’re going to report something pinknews, at least report it correctly.

    1. Spanner1960 6 Sep 2011, 12:48am

I have had both male and female lovers. I am gay, I just used to be undecided.

      1. It’s an acknowledged fact that he was bisexual, although it is true that he made conflicting statements in the media his actions throughout his career paint an image of a bisexual man.

        1. You don’t know for fact he’s bi and we don’t know for a fact he’s gay so just quit it.
Unless you can speak to the dead you don’t know how he actually felt of his sexuality.

  6. Freddie was as gay as a brush. He was ‘bisexual’ in the sense that he did the usual thing a lot of men did back then of trying to make it work with women first. Isn’t really being bisexual just reality that being gay back then, especially for someone in rock music, was very, very difficult.

    1. He had relationships with men and women until just a few years before his death, when he tended towards men more often. This doesn’t change the fact that he enjoyed the company of both men and women. Freddie Mercury, my personal bisexual hero – I’ve been a fan since I was a small child and it’s thanks in no small fact to studying him that I accepted my own bisexuality and stopped living a lie.

    2. He had several significant relationships with both men and women, including one to whom he left the majority of his estate. It is true that he lived his life as a predominantly gay one, but the truth remains that he can and did enjoy relationships with women.

I am bisexual but have not had a relationship or sexual encounter (discounting the odd kiss lol) with a man for, oh, four or five years. Does that mean I’m straight now? Of course not. Revisionist history really, really bugs me – especially when the facts speak for themselves.

  7. A great musical talent, and, in retrospect, incredibly camp (funny how switched off a closeted teenager in 1974 could be to that!!)

  8. God Bless Google.

  9. Where HIV AIDS really came from that killed Freddie.

  10. The fronts men view and focus has to be from and on the human rights and civil rights view, period what ever frontsmen, because the good need to be thanked and more should be found, and put on all fronts, same as the DADT ,, the frontman is that all of the gay;military that was wrongfully discharged because they where gay, has to be immediatley, replaced back into their positions or higher positions for the discriminaations and wrongful injustice that where made in there lives juge virginia needs to sue the government for recompense for the wasted time and emotional and physical damage and trauma that took place out of bigotry and ab;use from its own govenrment, the gay people men and women, who where abused by; bigots and wrongfully dismissed out of racism , has to be the first recurits replaced back into their rightful places or upgraded, for the wrongs done to them, they have no business being back in line for something that was all ready rightfully theirs thats a crime and wrong,

    1. I don’t care whether it was a PR stunt ot not. I think it was good to see what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday on the front page of Google. Makes a change to have someone on there that hasn’t been dead for well over 50 years and for it to be someone that you’ve heard of!
