I think Cher grossly underestimates the fanatic hatred shown to trans people in the USA.
Just look at the comments on the ABC site, MSN entertainment etc. The worst ones, the death threats etc have been censored out, leaving the threads looking like swiss cheese.
The remainder, talking about freaks, perverts, pedophiles etc are bad enough though.
