    6:04 PM — A new National Union of Students report says that LGBT issues have been "actively cut out" of education and academia. The report, Liberation, Equality and Diversity in the Curriculum, says lessons in all subjects should try to be more "inclusive", with focus on LGBT issues, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

    10:34 AM — A large majority of Scottish people now support marriage equality. According to the 2010 Scottish Social Attitudes Survey, published yesterday, 61 per cent of people believe gays and lesbians should have the right to marry.

    5:26 PM — Police are appealing for information after a gay man was attacked, sexually assaulted and robbed on London's Hampstead Heath. Officers believe the victim may also have been drugged.

    4:41 PM — A married gay couple in San Francisco who have lived together for nearly 20 years have been told that one must leave the US by August 25th. Bradford Wells and Antony John Makk married seven years ago in Massachusetts. For most of the last 19 years, they have shared a home in the Castro district.

  • Australia’s first gay and lesbian retirement village to be built 18

    The retirement village will be a 'haven' for LGB people, its developer said.

    2:57 PM — A British judge has ruled that millionaire businessman Shrien Dewani can be extradited to South Africa to stand trial over the murder of his wife. Anni Dewani, 29, was shot dead in Cape Town, South Africa, in November during an apparent hijacking. Local police believe her husband arranged for her to be killed by hitmen.

    12:42 PM — Gay football fans have voted Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard the hottest premiership player. The Gaydar survey of 4,276 men put Chelsea's Fernando Torres in second place, while teammate Frank Lampard was third.

    12:12 PM — The trial of a boy accused of shooting dead a gay classmate has heard that administrators failed to address problems around the victim's clothes and behaviour. Brandon McInerney, who was 14 at the time, is accused of shooting 15-year-old Larry King in the back of the head during a lesson at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California, in February 2008.

  • Another gay harassment lawsuit filed in Minnesota 16

    10:28 AM — Another lawsuit has been filed against a school district in Minnesota, which has been accused of allowing homophobic bullying. Last month, a suit was filed on behalf of five students in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, where a number of LGBT teen suicides have been reported.
