Sorry to see them split up. Maybe they will find new loves and a better life without substance or alcohol abuse.

  2. I hope they both find happiness. Drugs including alcohol cause heartbreak in many of our lives and relationships, just because he is famous does not protect George. Ironically he sang an Amy Winehouse song, yet another life ruined with drugs.

  4. I am dreadfully sorry to hear that they broke up 28 mths ago.

I guess this means George is now ‘fair game’ thus I’m pitching a tent permanently on Hampstead Heath as my base of ‘Operation: Get George’.

    1. In this weather that’s real commitment !!!

    1. Or contentment as independent single mature men – just as valid an option, though often difficult given the relentless pressure society puts on us to be coupled.

      1. You sound old and lonely. :)

        1. Only old (or “middle-aged”, even though I really have no intention of living past 100).

  6. they will find new “love” no doubt! are open relationships more likely to fail? am not judging – just opening the issue to debate!

Reassuring to see PN is still there with the major news stories that really matter. Keep up the sterling news Pink!

  8. Hmm. I always assumed (wrongly?) that George had learned well from past ‘issues’ that not being entirely open and honest about himself was never the best option. However, I do believe wholeheartedly that this is HIS business and none of us have an automatic right to be privy to any information about his private life. But. Why bring this up 2.5 years after the event? Ah, sorry I was forgetting, ANY news is good news when you have a tour to promote – nice one George, just drag yours AND Kenny’s muck through the press! I didn’t know that Kenny had alcohol issues ’til I read this…

  9. Oh dear!
He is a great singer and a paragomn of moral virtue.
His new release ‘Blindfold Barebacking’ will be an instant classic!

No “gay” relationship lasts. They should have told him that before he switched over as a 26-year-old. He might have been happier if he’d have settled down with a nice Greek girl.

    1. The increased demand for gay marriage around the world shows that more gay people are inclined to make a commitment rather than stay single. Please do some research before making stupid statements like this.

      you can’t switch sexualities
you are either hetero, gay or bi as a guy

    3. That’s the biggest load of crap I’ve ever heard in my life. There are gay and lesbian couples who have been together for decades – some for even longer than it’s been legal to actually have gay sex. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’ve been with my man for 18 years Michaelangelo. Many of my friends have been together for a few years. ‘Gay’ relationships last just as long as most other people, Gay, Lesbian, Straight or otherwise.

    5. Oh thanks for that Michaelangelo, I must remember to tell that to the 2 dozen gay couples I know who’ve been together for more than a decade (3 couples for over 25 years), I’m sure they’ll be fascinated by your authoritative opinion.

  11. You know Pink News is ever more successful when its comment sections attracts loads of anti-gay people.

Anwyay, hope George Michael and his ex are happy.

Good luck to them both and well done to Pinknews for covering the story in an unsensationalist way

  13. I’m sure George Michaels is a nice person, however I must say I don’t particularly like the messages he sends out as a representation of gay men in the mainstream media.
    1) looking for sex in public toilets (gross)
    3) Substance abuse and drink driving
Anyways, sad news about his break up…but why take 2 years to tell people they have broke up? bit weird.

    1. You cannot behave in such criminal ways AND be a nice person.
