Will Young says he’s looking forward to having children and a “less selfish” job.

The gay singer, speaking to Mail Online, said: “I’m very broody and I really want kids, but I don’t think it will happen until I’m into my 40s and in a long-term relationship.

“This job can make you very self-absorbed and I’d love to do something less selfish. I like the idea of doing the school run and then going home to write a song.”

He added: “I’m ready for a new relationship, but it will happen when the time is right.”

Last month, the singer admitted that he was “terrified” of being gay when he was younger.

He told Attitude magazine: “I was terrified of being gay so I didn’t really feel sexual until I was about 26… I was quite inhibited.

“I feel like I’ve reached a place that I’m happy with, worked out things I will never do. It’s taken me years to work that out.”
