Pres. Obama is trying to shore up his LGBTQ base as the ’12 elections are on the horizon. This move should have been a tad earlier as this is almost at the 11th hour for these two men. It would have been one thing if full blown AIDS had not been a factor? Stress like this can really wreak havoc with a compromised immune. system

    1. After the whole DADT deal, I’m not sure Obama really needs to work any harder to get the LGBT vote, especially with so many weird homophobes in the Republican lineup.

Trouble is whats the alternative? The likes of Michele Bachmann?

Here’s hoping Obama gets another term, the world and it’s US LGBTQI citizens would be in a much safer place. (Well sort off, too many Republican states that should no regard.)

  3. Discretion is great, but what if the person executing the discretion is a massive homophobe?

This seems like a lot of hot air. Equality should not be at other people’s “discretion”.

Hope that this issue will be resolved before he is expelled from the U.S.

So he can be with his partner. Good luck.

Good to hear but these are just words and no comfort to Anthony John Makk and Bradford Wells whose lives have been turned upside down by this obvious discrimination. It is cruel and so selfish when all it does is please the extreme religious folk.

I get the feeling some religious folk far from using the Bible as a guide use it to justify their own savage behaviour which means in essence they have learnt nothing and don’t wish to.

They read it upside down, I think. Or sideways, if we are talking about the Bachmann monster.

Sorry guys but I know this isn’t going to sit well but here goes. What part of “Illegal” don’t people understand? If gay couples came here legally and are applying for asylum or for a visa, then yes they should be allowed to stay pending the outcome of their cases BUT if they’re in this country illegally, then they have broken the law and the fact they’re gay or lesbian, in my opinion, has no bearing on anything and therefore should be deported.
