The chief executive of Stonewall, Ben Summerskill, has been nominated as Britain’s ‘Most Admired Charity Chief Executive’.

Mr Summerskill is one of six charity chief executives nominated for the Third Sector award.

Mr Summerskill joined Stonewall in 2003 and led the campaign for civil partnerships.

Stonewall deputy chief executive Laura Doughty said: “We’re thrilled that Ben has been nominated for this award.

“It recognises the real progress Ben and Stonewall have achieved in terms of equality for lesbian, gay and bisexual people at home, at work and in school in recent years.”
